A change has been introduced in the Mountain Tourism area of Bromo. The Probolinggo Regency Government is testing an online ticket system, marking a transformation towards more modern Tourism.
This trial isn't without reason. The timing was carefully chosen to coincide with two major events: Bromo Sunset Music and Culture at Seruni Point and Bromo Medic Run. Amid the tourist surge, this new system was field-tested.
"The trial was conducted concurrently with two major events, namely Bromo Sunset Music and Culture at Seruni Point and Bromo Medic Run, utilized as an opportunity for direct socialization to tourists during peak visitor numbers," said Head of Youth, Sports and Tourism Office (Disporapar) of Probolinggo Regency, Heri Mulyadi.

This digitalization step isn't merely a trend but a necessity. With the online ticket system, management aims to reduce long queues at tourist area entrances while creating more orderly visitation flows.
"This system not only facilitates tourist ticket purchases but also helps regulate visitation flows to be more orderly and controlled," he stated.
However, like many innovations in Nature Tourism areas, the path to Digital Transformation isn't entirely smooth. Internet connectivity remains challenging at some points, compounded by visitors' varying levels of digital literacy.
"We acknowledge challenges persist, particularly regarding digital literacy and network infrastructure. But these become evaluation materials for future improvements," said Umi Subiyantiningsih, Head of Tourism Destination and Industry Division at Disporapar Probolinggo.
During the trial period, officers were stationed at various strategic points to assist tourists unfamiliar with the online ticket system.
Future improvements will focus on strengthening internet networks and increasing public outreach.
The expectation is that this system won't just be a transaction tool but also a foundation for more transparent and sustainable destination management.
"We hope the public and tourists will support this system as a step toward more professional, orderly, and Sustainable Tourism management," she expressed.
