Thailand's national football team demonstrated their status as one of the 2026 AFF Cup title favourites after defeating Malaysia 2-0 in their Group B fixture. Last weekend's victory sent the War Elephants to the top of the provisional standings, while also preserving their perfect unbeaten record in the group stage.
In another match, the Philippines kept their semi-final qualification hopes alive after thrashing Laos 4-1. This result has made the race for the two semi-final spots from Group B even tighter.

With two matches still remaining on their schedule, the Philippines still have an open chance to break into the top two positions.
