Eliminating Persija Jakarta, Persib Bandung Advances to the 2026 President's Cup Final.

Persib Bandung has secured a spot in the 2026 President's Cup final match. In this semifinal fixture, the Maung Bandung squad defeated their classic rivals Persija Jakarta 2-1 at Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar Regency, Bali on Tuesday.

This victory preserves Persib's chance to claim the pre-season championship title, while also reinforcing their impressive form throughout the tournament. Igor Tolic's side will now await the winner of the other semifinal match between Persebaya Surabaya and Arema FC.

Persib took the initiative from the opening minutes, pressing Persija's deep defence which had set up compactly while waiting for counter-attack opportunities.

Persib's dominance produced a goal in the 25th minute. Striker Uilliam Barros Pereira broke the deadlock with a powerful strike that Persija goalkeeper Muchamad Aqil Savik failed to stop.

The opening goal further lifted Maung Bandung's confidence. Just four minutes later, Persib doubled their advantage after Japanese referee Yudai Yamamoto awarded a penalty following a foul by a Persija player inside the box.

Appointed penalty taker Balsa Sekulic completed his duty perfectly. Persib led 2-0 at the 29th minute.

With a two-goal cushion, Persib remained comfortably in control of the match tempo until the end of the first half.

Entering the second half, Macan Kemayoran switched to a more aggressive approach. Shin Tae Yong's side began pushing higher up the pitch as they attempted to chase the deficit.

Persija created a chance in the 70th minute, but Arlyansyah Abdulmanan's powerful shot hit the goalpost.

Persija finally narrowed the gap in the 85th minute through Kwon Chang-hoon.

Persija's goal forced Persib to play with greater discipline to protect their lead. Maung Bandung's backline successfully nullified all late efforts from Persija to find an equaliser.

Five minutes of second half stoppage time played out under high tension. Nevertheless, Persib managed to hold their lead until the referee blew the full time whistle.

This 2-1 victory confirms Persib Bandung's progression to the 2026 President's Cup final.
