Barcelona and Chelsea both had to work hard to avoid embarrassing defeats on the Champions League's 4th matchday, Thursday, November 6, 2025 early morning WIB. The two European giants could only manage draws against opponents theoretically beneath them.

Barcelona were forced to toil in a six-goal drama as they were held Club Brugge 3-3 at Jan Breydelstadion. The Belgian side even led twice and nearly stole victory during injury time before VAR disallowed Romeo Vermant's goal.

The match unfolded at a high tempo. Club Brugge took an early 1-0 lead through Nicolo Tresoldi, but Ferran Torres quickly equalized. Brugge regained the lead via Carlos Forbs before Lamine Yamal leveled at 2-2 with a brilliant individual effort.

Forbs put Brugge ahead again at 3-2, but Christos Tzolis' own goal restored the 3-3 draw. This result leaves Barcelona stalled in 11th place in the Champions League standings with 7 points from 4 matches, while Club Brugge climbs to 22nd with 4 points.

Sharing Barcelona's fate, Chelsea also managed only a 2-2 draw against Qarabag at Tofiq Bahramov Stadium, Baku. Alejandro Garnacho rescued The Blues with a second-half equalizer.

Chelsea, fielding many young players, initially led through Estevao in the 16th minute. But Qarabag reversed the score to 2-1 via Leandro Andrade's strike and Marko Jankovic's penalty. Garnacho equalized at 2-2 in the 53rd minute and nearly secured victory in injury time, but goalkeeper Kochalski denied his effort.

This leaves Chelsea in 10th place with seven points, while Qarabag trails closely in 12th with equal points.

Both Barcelona and Chelsea must now fight harder to maintain their direct qualification chances for the knockout phase after nearly suffering humiliation against fearless opponents.
