2026 President's Cup Champion Prize Pool Increased, Will the Title Battle Grow Even More Intense?

The 2026 President's Cup Final will not only feature a prestigious headline clash between Persib Bandung and Persebaya Surabaya, but also deliver prize rewards for all four top placing teams. The 2026 President's Cup Steering Committee (SC) has increased prize allocations for second, third and fourth placed squads to ensure the tournament remains fiercely competitive.

Prize money for the tournament champion had already been raised in an earlier announcement, increasing from Rp 6 billion to Rp 8 billion. This prize increase has now been extended to cover the runner-up position through to fourth place.

"Today I have finalised an additional Rp 500 million allocation for second place, an extra Rp 500 million for third place, and an extra Rp 500 million for fourth place," stated Maruarar Sirait, Chairman of the 2026 President's Cup Steering Committee.

Following this decision, the 2026 President's Cup runner-up will receive total prize money of Rp 3.5 billion, up from the originally scheduled Rp 3 billion. Third placed teams will now take home Rp 2.5 billion, raised from Rp 2 billion, while fourth place will be awarded Rp 1.5 billion, an increase from the previous Rp 1 billion prize.

Maruarar explained the prize uplift was introduced to preserve competitive integrity, both for the grand final fixture and the third place playoff match.

"There will be no cuts to any allocations. We will keep raising standards across the board, to keep players and their clubs motivated. To encourage healthy, honest competition," he added.

The final match will see Persib Bandung face Persebaya Surabaya at Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali on Thursday 6 August.

For the side nicknamed Maung Bandung, this fixture presents an opportunity to claim their second President's Cup title in tournament history, after winning the inaugural 2015 edition. Meanwhile Persebaya are aiming to make history by lifting the President's Cup trophy for the very first time.

Motivation is especially high for the Bajul Ijo squad, who previously reached the 2019 President's Cup final. On that occasion Persebaya were defeated by rivals Arema FC via a 2-4 aggregate score across the two-legged final tie.

Separately, Persija Jakarta will face Arema FC in the third place playoff match. Both teams are determined to end their tournament campaign with a victory after failing to qualify for the grand final.

Persija were eliminated from the semi final stage by Persib with a 1-2 scoreline, while Arema were knocked out following a 0-1 defeat to Persebaya.
