Arsenal are moving ever closer to securing one of their top targets for the 2026 summer transfer window. The North London club is reported to have reached a full agreement with Newcastle United for the signature of Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
While Guimaraes commands an enormous transfer fee, this deal still does not displace Morgan Rogers as the most expensive signing of the 2026 summer transfer window.
The England international forward who joined Chelsea remains at the top of the list for largest transfer fees completed so far this window.

According to Sky Sports reporting, Arsenal have agreed to pay 75 million pounds sterling, approximately equal to IDR 1.8 trillion, to bring Bruno Guimaraes to Emirates Stadium. This fee is even noted to sit above the player's current estimated market value.
Arsenal are currently coordinating scheduling for Guimaraes' medical assessment before the full transfer process is formally finalised. The arrival of the 28-year old is expected to raise the standard of The Gunners' midfield unit.
Arsenal targeted Guimaraes due to his reputation as a well-rounded modern midfielder. Alongside being physically robust in defensive work and ball recovery, the Brazil international is also highly regarded for his tempo control, progressive build-up play and chance creation ability.
Newcastle Generate Major Revenue From Player Sales
Newcastle United have secured large incoming funds from the Guimaraes transfer alongside other player departures this summer window.
Before sanctioning Guimaraes' move to Arsenal, Newcastle had already completed the sales of Sandro Tonali to Tottenham Hotspur and Anthony Gordon to Barcelona.
Morgan Rogers' Transfer Record Remains Unmatched
Amid Arsenal's transfer activity, the record for largest single transfer of the 2026 summer window still belongs to Chelsea following their capture of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.
The England international forward has officially signed a seven year contract with The Blues. Chelsea are reported to have invested 117 million pounds sterling, approximately IDR 2.8 trillion, to bring Rogers to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have also strengthened their squad with the addition of young Italian talent Marco Palestra. The 21 year old wing back was signed from Atalanta for a fee of 47 million pounds sterling, equal to approximately IDR 1.12 trillion.
On outgoing business, Chelsea generated revenue through the sales of Andrey Santos to Manchester United and Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid.
Tottenham Emerge As Highest Spending Club
While Chelsea hold the record for the largest individual transfer, Tottenham Hotspur have recorded the highest total expenditure across the entire 2026 summer transfer window.
Spurs have spent over 277.5 million pounds sterling, approximately IDR 6.6 trillion, to complete the signings of Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke.
