Denpasar – PT PLN (Persero) Main Distribution Unit (UID) Bali has confirmed there are no plans for rolling Power Outages across bali, contrary to information that has recently circulated on social media and instant messaging Applications.
I Wayan Eka Susana, PLN UID Bali Communications, Social & Environmental Responsibility Manager, stated that as of this time there has been no official confirmation or notice regarding rolling Power Outages scheduled for three consecutive days from 22 to 24 June 2026.
This clarification was issued after a poster circulated claiming full planned network maintenance would be conducted across Java and Bali. The poster stated this work would run non-stop for three days and impact multiple areas on both islands.
The viral information further claimed all customers in affected zones would experience total full power blackouts for approximately three straight days. However PLN UID Bali confirmed this information is false, and was never published nor validated by the company.
"No such rolling power outage scheme has been confirmed for the Bali region," stated Eka Susana in Denpasar on Monday, 22/6/2026.
PLN urges the public not to trust unsubstantiated information from unverified sources, and always verify any electricity service related updates through the company's official channels before sharing. With this clarification, PLN confirms Bali's power supply remains secure, and no rolling outage agenda exists as widely discussed.
Meanwhile, Komang Tedy Indra Kusuma, Manager of PLN Bali Load Regulation Implementation Unit (UP2B) stated that primary energy supplies including coal and fuel oil for Bali's power generation operations remain in safe condition.
According to him, the available primary energy reserves are sufficient to maintain Electricity System reliability, while also mitigating the impact of fuel price increases on electricity provision operational costs.
Tedy explained this stable primary energy supply is supported by government policies including the Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) for both coal and fuel oil, which has long served as the main backbone for power plant operations.
"As of now, fuel price increases have not impacted PLN operations. We are still protected by government regulations regarding DMO pricing for both coal and fuel oil," he stated, as quoted by ANTARA.
PLN hopes continued support from central and regional governments will be maintained to stabilize primary energy prices, so that electricity production cost rises can be suppressed and will not burden the general public nor Business sectors.
Currently Bali's electricity system is supported by fossil fuel power plants operating in Celukan Bawang, Pemaron, Pesanggaran and Gilimanuk. Even so, Bali Electricity demand which reaches approximately 1,300 Megawatts (MW) still requires supplementary supply from the Java-Bali interconnection grid.
To strengthen long term energy independence, PLN has included multiple new power plant development plans into the Bali electricity system roadmap.
Alongside maintaining primary energy availability, PLN is also continuously improving system reliability by strengthening the Advanced Defense Scheme (ADS) to anticipate disruptions that could trigger large scale power outages.
With secure primary energy stockpiles, government policy support, and strengthened electricity system safeguards, PLN guarantees reliable power supply across Bali to support public daily activities, the Tourism sector, and the business community that forms the economic backbone of the Island of the Gods.
