Stamford Bridge will bear witness to a stern test for Chelsea as they host Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 on Wednesday, March 18th WIB. Arriving with a 5-2 aggregate advantage, PSG are indeed in a strong position.

However, for PSG coach Luis Enrique, this situation is no reason to relax.

"The second leg is always different. We are prepared and accustomed to playing matches like this, and we want to perform well," he stated on PSG's official website.

PSG Reluctant to Be Lulled into a False Sense of Security

The three-goal cushion gives PSG breathing room; even a two-goal defeat would still be enough to secure their ticket to the Quarter-Finals

However, Enrique emphasized that European Football often presents unexpected scenarios.

"You cannot be complacent in matches like this. Our aim is to control the game, although it's impossible to do so completely," said Enrique.

The Spanish coach even reminded his players of last season's experience against Aston Villa

Back then, PSG almost lost control after winning 3-1 in the first leg, before suffering a 2-3 defeat in the second leg.

"I think that is a clear example of how such a match can unfold. There will be difficult moments during the game," he said.

Chelsea Lose Their Captain at a Crucial Moment

On the other side, Chelsea's challenge has become tougher. They will definitely be without their captain and key defender, Reece James, who sustained an injury after the match against Newcastle United.

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior did not hide his disappointment over the situation.

"It's very frustrating and disappointing for us, and we don't yet fully know the extent of the injury, but it rules him out of tomorrow's match," said Rosenior on Chelsea's official website.

James's absence is not just a technical loss, but also a loss of leadership on the pitch.

"Obviously, we know how important he is as a player, how important he is as a leader within the team as our captain," he said.

The Blues' Near-Impossible Mission

The 2-5 defeat in the first leg at PSG's home ground leaves Chelsea facing a difficult scenario. They must win by a margin of at least four goals to overturn the deficit – a near-impossible task, even in front of their own fans at Stamford Bridge.

Without a key figure like Reece James, the pressure mounts even more on Chelsea's defense and transition play.

Meanwhile, PSG arrive with a simple yet crucial mission: stay focused, control the tempo, and avoid fatal mistakes.

However, the Champions League often delivers surprises. For Chelsea, this match is not just about the aggregate score, but also about the mentality to create a miracle.
