Jogja Run'nShine 2026 will be held in September, with an even more diverse range of prizes available.

Jogja Run'nShine 2026 returns with a concept that combines sports, arts, and tourism. For this edition, organizers are not only targeting a higher number of participants, but also increasing prize offerings to make the experience of joining this running event far more memorable.

This event, scheduled to be held on 18-20 September 2026 in Yogyakarta, offers significantly greater rewards compared to its previous edition.

While winners at the prior event received Umrah pilgrimage packages and trips to Thailand, this year's prize pool has been expanded with much more varied options.

Participants in the Best Costume category have the chance to win a Thailand travel package, 5K category champions will receive a Turkey holiday package, while the grand prize of an Umrah package is awarded for the 10K category winner.

Andi Fadly Arifuddin, Marketing Director of SIRAH Travel who is familiarly known as Fadly Padi, stated that these upgraded prizes are part of efforts to deliver a more engaging experience for all participants.

“We hope this prize improvement will provide an even more exciting experience for participants, while also reinforcing the travel and tourism element that forms the core of this event's concept. We hope more people from all across Indonesia, as well as international visitors, will be interested to come and experience first-hand what Jogja Run'nShine has to offer,” stated Fadly.

Jogja Run'nShine 2026 is a collaborative initiative between Gadjah Mada University Innovation and Creativity Arena (GIK UGM), Gadjah Mada Law Alumni Association (KAHGAMA), SIRAH Travel, Sedekat Imaji Rupa, and MyRace Sports Organizer.

A total of 3,500 runners are targeted to join this event. Unlike standard running competitions, Jogja Run'nShine carries a sporty & artsy concept: a fusion of athletics with the signature cultural and creative experiences unique to Yogyakarta.

Alfatika Aunuriella Dini, Chief Director of GIK UGM, emphasized that Jogja Run'nShine is not merely a running competition, but a dedicated space to experience Yogyakarta in its entirety.

"We created Jogja Run'nShine not just as a running event, but as a space to celebrate Yogyakarta more fully, aligned with the Renaissance theme that inspired this year's execution," stated Alfatika.

She expressed hope that this year's edition will deliver a richer, more meaningful experience for every single participant.

"This year, we want to expand this experience even further. Our hope is that everyone who attends does not only run for their health, but also discovers new experiences, builds connections, and brings home new personal stories about Yogyakarta," she added.

Jogja Run'nShine 2026 will host two main race categories: 5K and 10K, accompanied by a wide range of creative side activities.

Galih Satrio, Director of Sedekat Imaji Rupa, explained that the core philosophy of this festival is maintaining healthy balance between physical wellbeing and emotional experience.

"A whole, fulfilled person is someone who nurtures both their body and their heart equally. That is the spirit carried by Run'nShine, as this festival embodies both physical exercise and nourishment for the soul," said Galih.

Meanwhile, Paripurna P. Sugarda, Chairman of KAHGAMA, stated that this event is a tangible form of cross-community collaboration to promote Yogyakarta as a destination that blends rich cultural heritage with healthy modern living.

"We want the contribution of UGM Law alumni to extend beyond academic and professional spaces. We also wish to contribute through healthy, creative activities that strengthen community bonds and foster love for Yogyakarta," stated Paripurna.
