Ahead of the long holidays of Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr, the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) is paying special attention to the comfort of tourists who are expected to crowd various destinations in Indonesia.
During her visit to the beach area in Anyer, Banten, Deputy Minister of Tourism (Wamenpar) Ni Luh Puspa reminded stakeholders to ensure Tourist Destinations remain friendly to visitors, including being Free from illegal levy practices.
“There should also be no excessive tariff increases. This must be ensured so that the public and tourists truly feel safe and comfortable when visiting," said Ni Luh Puspa in her statement on Friday.

Tourist Surge During the Holiday Season
This warning comes as tourist mobility is projected to increase during this year's holiday season. The government estimates that the movement of Domestic Tourists could reach around 144 million people.
Most of the tourist flow is predicted to go to beach destinations easily accessible from major cities, including the coastal areas in Banten Province from Carita to Tanjung Lesung.
In that region, the local government is targeting around two million Tourist Visits during the Nyepi and Lebaran holiday period.
Such a surge in visitor numbers often becomes a vulnerable moment for the emergence of illegal levy practices, ranging from unreasonable parking fees to increases in entrance ticket and food prices exceeding official rates.
Maintaining Indonesia's Tourism Image
During a review of the readiness of tourist destinations in the Anyer area, Wamenpar emphasized that monitoring such practices is important to maintain Indonesia's tourism reputation.
She regretted that illegal levy practices are still found in several destinations, especially when tourist numbers increase sharply during the holiday season.
According to her, the bad experiences faced by tourists due to unreasonable tariffs can damage the destination's image and reduce visitor trust.
Therefore, the government is requesting the active involvement of all parties, from local governments to destination managers, to ensure monitoring runs optimally.
Security and Safety as Priorities
In addition to tariff and illegal levy issues, the safety aspect of tourists is also a major concern for the government, especially in coastal areas.
"We want to ensure that all aspects are well prepared and receive extra attention. Hopefully, this holiday can run safely, comfortably, and enjoyably for tourists," said Ni Luh Puspa.
Weather factors, wave conditions, and the readiness of safety officers are important parts, especially in coastal destinations that are favorites of domestic tourists.
