Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2026, the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) is preparing curated travel packages to encourage public mobility and broaden the economic impact across various regions in Indonesia

The Lebaran momentum, synonymous with the homecoming exodus, is now being directed not only as a homecoming tradition but also as an opportunity to explore domestic destinations.

In the national travel landscape, this period becomes one of the busiest times of the year.

"We believe this movement will create a positive economic impact or economic circulation for the community, especially for MSME entrepreneurs," said Deputy Minister for Marketing of Kemenpar Ni Made Ayu Marthini in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

She explained that Eid al-Fitr is one of the periods with the highest travel mobility in Indonesia. This condition significantly impacts tourist movement, necessitating joint efforts to ensure smooth travel.

The impact of this increased mobility extends to various sectors. Not only the transportation sector, but it also opens opportunities for broader economic circulation among the community, especially for MSME players who are a crucial part of the Tourism Ecosystem.

To address this surge, Kemenpar has coordinated and curated various travel packages for the public to enjoy. The preparation of these packages involved collaboration with around 40 tourism industry players, primarily focusing on air transport users.

Simultaneously, the public is encouraged to travel domestically as part of strengthening the campaign to be proud of Traveling in Indonesia. This effort not only broadens destination choices but also strengthens the resilience of the national tourism sector by optimizing domestic potential.

The role of online travel agents becomes crucial in ensuring quality service.

"If any conditions arise in the field, we hope they can be communicated well so they can be clarified according to applicable policies," said Ni Made Ayu.

Furthermore, policy support from the connectivity sector is also being strengthened. Deputy for Connectivity Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development Odo Manuhutu stated that the government is striving to lower Airplane Ticket prices.

A number of strategic policies are being implemented, ranging from improving the cost structure of the aviation industry to strengthening support for pioneer routes.

As an additional stimulus, the government is providing various incentives during the Eid Holiday period, including a 20 percent discount on Passenger Air Transport Services (PJPU), a 40 to 50 percent discount on Aircraft Landing, Parking, and Storage Services (PJP4U), up to a 10 percent discount on avtur at 37 airports, and up to a 50 percent reduction in Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) for airports.

With travel packages, cross-industry collaboration, and accompanying policy support, the 2026 Eid Holiday becomes a moment to explore Indonesia in a more planned manner while delivering a broader economic impact.
