Arsenal stands firm at the top of the English League 2025/26 standings after securing a convincing 2-0 victory over Brentford at Emirates Stadium in Week 14, Thursday, December 4, 2025. The Gunners dominated from the opening minutes, reaffirming the consistency that has put them on a championship trajectory.

Arsenal started with high intensity and took an early lead when Mikel Merino headed home Ben White's cross in the 11th minute.

Brentford had a golden chance to equalize through Kevin Schade's header, but David Raya made a crucial save that sent the ball crashing against the crossbar.

Arsenal's dominance continued in the second half. Substitute Bukayo Saka made an immediate impact with a series of dangerous runs down the right flank.

The English winger sealed the victory in injury time when a spilled save from Kelleher trickled into the net, locking the score at 2-0.

The three points bring Arsenal's total to 33 points, putting them five points clear of Manchester City and extending their impressive home record.

Chelsea Humiliated by Leeds United

A shock unfolded at Elland Road as Chelsea suffered a 1-3 defeat to Leeds United. The hosts struck early with Jaka Bijol's sixth-minute corner kick goal.

Leeds' pressure yielded another goal just before halftime when Ao Tanaka doubled their advantage.

Chelsea attempted a comeback in the second half, briefly narrowing the deficit through Pedro Neto. But the momentum evaporated when Dominic Calvert-Lewin restored Leeds' two-goal cushion.

This defeat deals a heavy blow to Chelsea, who drop to fourth place with 24 points.

Aston Villa capitalized on the situation, climbing to third after a dramatic 4-3 win over Brighton. Meanwhile, this vital victory moves Leeds further from the relegation zone, now sitting on 14 points.

Liverpool Held by Sunderland at Anfield

Liverpool failed to maintain their winning streak after being held to a 1-1 draw by Sunderland.

The tightly contested match saw The Reds dominate possession, but Sunderland took the lead through Chemsdine Talbi midway through the second half.

Liverpool equalized via a Nordi Mukiele own goal, yet couldn't find a winner despite besieging the visitors' defense for the remainder of the match.

This result marks Liverpool's first Premier League draw this season, keeping them in eighth place with 22 points. Sunderland remain stable in the top six with 23 points.
