The 20th week of the Premier League presented a similar story for three Premier League giants: Manchester City, Liverpool, and Manchester United. All three failed to secure full points after only managing draws.
This result tightens the competition at the top of the Standings, especially in the race for next season's Champions League ticket.
At the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City had to settle for a point after sharing the spoils with Chelsea in a fierce match from the opening minutes. Enzo Fernandez's goal saved The Blues from defeat, forcing a 1-1 Draw.

Hosting Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester, on Monday, 5 January 2026, Manchester City took the lead through Tijjani Reijnders before Enzo Fernandes eventually equalized.
This Draw places Manchester City back in second place in the provisional Standings of the Premier League with 42 points from 20 matches. City are six points behind league leaders Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Chelsea, entering a new era following the sacking of Enzo Maresca, returned to fifth place in the provisional Premier League Standings with 31 points from 20 games, three points behind the top four.
Chelsea officially sacked Enzo Maresca on 1 January 2026, ending speculation about his future at the club.
The dismissal was triggered by the team's poor performance, winning only once in their last seven matches.
The decision was made for a new direction, although Chelsea's competitive position wasn't entirely bad.
Liverpool Held to Draw by Fulham at Craven Cottage
In London, Fulham halted Liverpool's momentum in an open duel that ended 2-2 at Craven Cottage, London, on Monday.
Fulham took the lead and later equalized through Harry Wilson and Harrison Reed.
Liverpool, who fell behind first, equalized through a goal by Florian Wirtz and then briefly took the lead thanks to Cody Gakpo. However, the match ended in a draw.
The Draw does not change Liverpool's position in fourth place in the provisional Premier League standings with 34 points from 20 matches, 14 points behind Arsenal in first place.
Meanwhile, Fulham climbed to 11th place in the provisional Premier League standings with 28 points from 20 matches, six points off the top four.
Manchester United Stalled Again
Manchester United also failed to break their trend of Draws after being held 1-1 by Leeds United at Elland Road.
This marks the second consecutive Draw for Manchester United, following their 1-1 stalemate with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford Stadium early on Wednesday, 31 December 2025 WIB.
Leeds United took the lead through Brenden Aaronson in the 62nd minute. However, three minutes later, Manchester United equalized thanks to a goal by Matheus Cunha.
The draw does not change Manchester United's position in sixth place in the provisional Premier League standings with 31 points from 20 matches.
On the other hand, the additional point still hasn't moved Leeds United from 16th place in the provisional Premier League standings. They have collected 22 points from 20 matches, eight points clear of the relegation zone.
