FC Barcelona (Barca) reaffirmed their LaLiga 2025/2026 ambitions by dethroning Real Madrid from the top of the standings with a 3-1 victory over Deportivo Alaves in matchday 14 on Saturday, 29 November 2025. This win marked a crucial momentum for Barca, especially amid the resurgent atmosphere at their legendary home ground, Camp Nou.

Camp Nou, now fully reopened after renovations, has transformed beyond a match venue into a premier destination for football fans, sports travelers, and enthusiasts of European football atmosphere. The triumph over Alaves confirmed both club and stadium have found their positive rhythm.

The match began unexpectedly as Alaves took the lead just one minute in through Pablo Ibanez's near-post flick from a corner kick. Barca's resolve was immediately tested. However, seven minutes later, Lamine Yamal reignited hopes by equalizing after tapping in Raphinha's cutback pass. This goal signaled the young star's growing comfort in the revamped Camp Nou.

Alaves' Early Strike, Yamal-Olmo Lightning Response, and Barca's Dominance

In the 26th minute, Dani Olmo completed an identical attacking pattern, converting another Raphinha assist to give Barca the lead and ending the first half on a positive note. The 2-1 scoreline demonstrated Barcelona's ability to overcome early pressure and control proceedings.

Though Alaves attempted to respond after halftime, Barcelona's dominance became increasingly evident. The hosts registered 11 total shots, four on target. Alaves' goalkeeper performed admirably, forcing the match to wait until injury time for resolution. Olmo's sealing goal in the 90+3rd minute secured full points for the home side.

This result propelled Barcelona to 34 points from 14 matches, temporarily topping LaLiga with a two-point lead over Real Madrid – at least until Los Blancos play their next fixture.
