Tensions flared again in the heated El Clasico duel between Real Madrid and Barcelona at Santiago Bernabeu on Monday, October 27, 2025. However, Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso remained calm when addressing the post-match incident that briefly heated up the atmosphere.

After referee Cesar Soto blew the final whistle marking Madrid's 2-1 victory, several players from both teams were seen clashing in the center of the field.

This heated moment became one of the major confrontations rarely seen since the legendary 2011 clash.

Despite this, Alonso didn't want the scuffle to be blown out of proportion.

"There's no need to worry too much about a healthy, respectful, natural clash. It was just tension from an important match with a tight result. We didn't miss many chances, and I think this is perfectly normal," said Alonso, quoted from the club's official website.

The 43-year-old coach emphasized that high emotions are part of El Clasico's atmosphere. He doesn't want his team's focus diverted from this season's main target.

"Don't exaggerate such tense moments. Many things have happened in Clasicos, and we have another match coming up on Saturday, November 1st (Sunday, November 2nd WIB)," he added.

Meaningful Victory, But Alonso Warns Real Madrid to Stay Vigilant

The victory over Barcelona solidified Los Blancos' position at the top of the La Liga standings, now leading their eternal rivals by five points. However, Alonso stressed that the season is still long and Madrid must remain focused.

"This isn't just three points, this victory carries extra meaning. Still, it's early in the season and we have much work ahead. We want to feel good, and that's what's happening," stated the former Bayer Leverkusen manager.

Special Praise for Camavinga

Beyond the sharp attacking display, Alonso gave special recognition to the midfield unit led by Eduardo Camavinga's hard work.

"We played with dynamic players who can occupy various positions. We needed to dominate midfield and not be weak in that area. The whole team played exceptionally, but Eduardo (Camavinga) was truly outstanding," praised Alonso.

Real Madrid will continue their La Liga campaign by hosting Valencia on Sunday, November 2nd. The victory over Barcelona provides crucial momentum for Los Blancos to maintain their positive form and strengthen their dominance at the top of the table.
