Persib Bandung had to swallow a bitter pill as their seven-match winning streak ended at Bishan Stadium, Singapore. In the AFC Champions League (ACL) II Group H match, Maung Bandung fell 2-3 to Lion City Sailors despite having led 2-1 at one point.

This defeat disappointed coach Bojan Hodak, who felt his team lacked discipline during crucial moments. Bojan emphasized this result should serve as a hard wake-up call for the squad.

"We scored two goals and still lost that match – you have to ask yourself," stated Bojan as quoted from the club's official website on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

He specifically highlighted Persib's fragile defensive organization resurfacing as a recurring weakness.

"Particularly concerning the defensive line. Beyond the two goals we created, we actually had numerous opportunities, but our finishing was poor," he continued.

Lost Momentum, Responsibility Lies with the Coach

Persib displayed aggression to turn the game around to 2-1, yet lost control in the second half.

Two reply goals from the Sailors saw Maung Bandung return empty-handed, ending their winning momentum.

Despite this, Bojan refused to directly blame his players, instead taking full responsibility.

"At this level, ACL Two must perform better. This defeat is entirely the coach's fault. But we must refocus for the next match. Four tough fixtures await, and we need full concentration on them," explained Bojan.

He stressed this loss isn't the end, urging immediate focus on the packed schedule ahead—a phase potentially decisive for Maung Bandung's season.

Four Tough Fixtures Await

Following the Singapore defeat, Persib faces consecutive matches against Madura United (November 30), Borneo FC (December 5), Bangkok United (December 10), and Malut United (December 14).

In the standings, Persib remains temporarily secure, leading ACL II Group G with 10 points from five matches. However, this could rapidly change if they stumble again.

Do-or-Die Clash at GBLA

The December 10 duel against Bangkok United at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium becomes critical. Persib only requires a draw to secure ACL II's Round of 16 spot without depending on Selangor FC vs Lion City Sailors' result.

Hodak acknowledged mounting pressure but insisted his team must respond swiftly to this defeat by tightening their defense and capitalizing on chances.
