Persib Bandung finally tasted their first defeat in the Asia Champions League (ACL) 2. Maung Bandung fell 2-3 to Lion City Sailors in the fifth Group G match at Bishan Stadium, Singapore, on Wednesday night, November 26, 2025. This loss intensified the tense battle for round of 16 tickets.

Despite the defeat, Persib remains atop the Group G standings with 10 points from three wins, one draw, and one loss. They lead on goal difference over Bangkok United, who have the same points total.

Persib holds a +4 goal difference (10 scored, 6 conceded), while Bangkok has +2 (8 scored, 6 conceded).

In another match, Selangor FC held Bangkok United to a 1-1 draw. This result preserves Bangkok's qualification chances, but Persib retains top position.

Meanwhile, the victory over Persib breathed new life into Lion City Sailors. The Singapore club has now collected seven points from two wins, one draw, and two losses.

With one remaining match against Selangor FC, Lion City could reach 10 points and potentially overtake if Persib or Bangkok stumble in their final games.

All eyes now turn to the decisive clash: Persib Bandung vs Bangkok United on December 10, 2025. This match will not only determine the group winner but also decide who advances to the knockout stage.

The scenario: If either team wins, they qualify as group leader. If drawn, both Persib and Bangkok advance to the round of 16 regardless of Lion City Sailors' result.

The Singapore defeat complicates Persib's path, yet they retain full control. Group G has officially become a pressure cooker, forcing Persib to deliver a flawless final performance to secure their round of 16 ticket without added drama.
