Adhitia Putra Herawan, Deputy CEO of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat, has publicly addressed the future status of Persib Bandung head coach Bojan Hodak.

The Croatian coach's employment contract is scheduled to expire in May 2026. However, heading into the 34th matchweek of the 2025/2026 Super League, no formal agreement has yet been reached between both parties regarding Contract Extension terms.

Persib club management had already opened communication channels with Bojan some weeks prior. During these early discussions, the coach also submitted multiple proposals related to the team's training and operational facilities.

This impasse has left the future of the coach who delivered two domestic championship titles for Persib hanging in uncertainty.

Adhitia confirmed that club management fully respects Bojan's decision to prioritise completing the current competitive season before entering formal new contract negotiations.

He explained that full unbroken focus is critical at this stage, as Persib will face a decisive final season fixture against Persijap Jepara to close out the campaign.

The league title race also remains extremely tight at the top of the Standings, with second placed Borneo FC still holding a mathematical chance of claiming the championship.

"These conversations have been ongoing for quite some time, that is correct. But we hold Bojan's wishes in full respect."

"He has asked to remain fully focused on match duties first until the season concludes," Adhitia stated.

Adhitia confirmed that formal contract talks will resume immediately following the Persijap Jepara fixture scheduled for 23 May.

Club management has made clear they strongly wish to retain Bojan to lead the squad for the next season. The 55-year old coach has also given encouraging, positive signals during informal discussions to date.

"There is no cause for concern. Once the 23rd passes we will sit down properly together, and we will share official updated information with all supporters and media afterwards."

"The simple truth is management are happy working with him, the entire playing squad are happy with him, everyone at the club is happy with him."

"We will do everything within our power to secure his continued stay at Persib," he added.

Regarding the facility requests raised by Bojan, Adhitia clarified these were submitted as constructive long-term development feedback for the club, not non-negotiable preconditions for signing a new contract.

He noted these proposals are entirely reasonable, given Persib's stated ambition to remain competitive both at Southeast Asian regional level and in AFC continental competitions.

Club management also pledged ongoing investment into supporting infrastructure to sustain the team's performance standards.

"It is accurate that there are several upgrade requests, but these are not mandatory make-or-break conditions where he would refuse to sign if they are not delivered immediately."

"Bojan understands the realities of football operations in Southeast Asia perfectly well, and he sees that Persib is already working progressively towards these improvements."

"We already operate our own dedicated training ground, and full gym facility upgrades are currently in progress," he concluded.
