The presence of Carlo Ancelotti as the new head coach of the Brazilian National Team has not yet been directly experienced by Neymar. Although his status as a Brazilian football legend is undeniable, Ancelotti sent a clear signal: the national team door remains open but only for those physically ready and with high game intensity.
"It's normal (to ask that) because Neymar is a Brazilian football legend. Everyone wants Neymar to return to his best physical condition," Ancelotti told Placar.
During his brilliant career, Neymar has played 128 times for Brazil, scoring 79 goals and providing 59 assists. This achievement makes him one of the most productive players in Seleção history. However, the 33-year-old star has not worn the yellow-green jersey for the past two years.

Neymar's last match with the national team was when Brazil lost 0-2 to Uruguay in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. That defeat also became a bitter moment as he suffered a severe ACL injury. After recovering, Neymar still struggles to reach ideal fitness due to recurring hamstring injuries since last season.
Consequently, Neymar's name was again absent from Brazil's squad for two friendlies against Senegal (November 15, 2025) and Tunisia (November 18, 2025).
Nevertheless, Ancelotti confirmed that the entire team including staff and players fully supports Neymar's recovery process.
"CBF, coaches, technical staff, players all hope Neymar can return to his best level," added the Italian coach who previously managed AC Milan, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Ancelotti doesn't turn a blind eye to modern football's increasing demands for physicality and high intensity.
"The reality is football today demands much more. Not just talent, but physical condition and intensity too. Hopefully Neymar can return to his best level," he expressed.
With a career record including three Copa América titles (2010, 2016, 2019) and three World Cups (2014, 2018, 2022), Neymar remains a major icon missed by the Brazilian public.
But under Ancelotti's guidance, his spot in the starting lineup is no longer automatic—it must be earned through fitness and consistency.
Will Ancelotti call up Neymar again? The answer likely depends on how quickly Neymar becomes fully fit.
