Fresh news comes from the foothills of Mount Halimun Salak. Starting Monday, November 3, 2025, the Halimun Salak National Park Office (TNGHS) has officially lowered the entrance fees for its natural tourism areas. This news is certainly a breath of fresh air for nature lovers, hikers, and families longing to enjoy the cool air amidst the largest tropical forest in western Java.
According to an announcement posted on the official Instagram account [@btngnhalimunsalak](https://www.instagram.com/btngnhalimunsalak), the adjustment of entrance fees for natural tourism and hiking visitors at TNGHS complies with Indonesian Minister of Forestry Regulation Number 17 of 2025 regarding the Classification of Entrance Tickets for Natural Tourism Visitors in National Parks and Nature Tourism Parks.
This step is not merely an administrative adjustment, but also reflects the TNGHS Office's commitment to providing more inclusive and affordable nature tourism for all segments of society.

Four Hiking Trails and 10 Natural Attractions Downgraded
In Appendix II of Forestry Minister Regulation No. 17 of 2025, four hiking trails and ten Natural Tourism Attractions (ODTWA) in TNGHS have been downgraded from Class 2 to Class 3.
This downgrade was implemented so the entrance fee amount aligns with Government Regulation Number 36 of 2024 regarding types and rates of Non-Tax State Revenue at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
This move makes the TNGHS area attractive not only for its beauty but also for its affordability. Now, exploring the Halimun forest or hiking the slopes of Mount Salak no longer feels burdensome on the wallet.
New TNGHS Entrance Fees
Visitors can enjoy the natural charm of TNGHS with new rates starting November 3, 2025. Foreign Nationals (WNA) - Rp150,000 per person/day; Indonesian Citizens (WNI) Weekdays - Rp10,000 per person/day; WNI Weekends/Holidays - Rp15,000 per person/day; Student Group Weekdays - Rp5,000 per person/day; and Student Group Weekends/Holidays - Rp7,500 per person/day.
These rates are significantly cheaper than before. For comparison, WNAs previously paid Rp200,000, WNIs paid Rp30,000 on holidays and Rp20,000 on weekdays. Even for students, the current fee is only half of the old price.
With this adjustment, TNGHS truly opens its doors wide to anyone wanting to enjoy the lush green forest, the cool morning dew, and the song of insects beneath the canopy of giant trees.
Refund for Visitors Who Paid the Old Rate
The new tariff policy became effective 30 days after its enactment on October 3, 2025, starting November 3, 2025.
Interestingly, the TNGHS Office remains attentive to fairness for visitors who booked tickets before that date.
"Visitors who made reservations before November 3, 2025 (via the MONALISA Halimun Salak app or direct purchase at the gate) will still be charged the old rate," stated the announcement.
However, if there is an overpayment due to the tariff adjustment, visitors can apply for a refund by attaching proof of identity, proof of payment & booking code (for online tickets), the Area Entrance Ticket, and an active bank account number.
Refund requests can be sent via email to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) or via WhatsApp to the Call Center at 0857-2188-8664.
More Than Just Cheap Tickets: Access to Pristine Nature
This policy is not just about numbers, but about access. With the new rates, the TNGHS Office wants to ensure that anyone, whether students, families, or foreign tourists, can experience the beauty of preserved nature.
"This adjustment represents an enhancement in service quality, fairness, and accessibility of natural tourism for the wider community. Thank you for the support and participation of SobatHijau in wisely preserving and enjoying the nature of Gunung Halimun Salak National Park," the announcement concluded.
With this step, TNGHS is not only preserving the forest but also preserving the connection between humans and their natural environment.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life, the TNGHS Office reminds us that the beauty of nature is not the privilege of a few, but a shared heritage to be enjoyed and protected together.
