The Mandalika MotoGP event not only brings engine roars and spectator cheers, but also opens new opportunities for Lombok's tourism sector.
This time, the opportunity comes from a collaboration between investors from Spain, Italy, and Saudi Arabia who plan to build hotels and resorts in the Mount Tunak tourism area, Pujut District, Central Lombok.
"Why is MotoGP in Mandalika? That's my answer for investing in Lombok – to boost tourism here," said Richard Demicheli, CEO and Founder of HFC Group, in Central Lombok, Thursday, October 2, 2025.

Richard emphasized his commitment to supporting Lombok's tourism development to positively impact community economic growth.
According to him, cooperation with the government and local communities is key to realizing the dream of making Lombok a green tourism destination.
"We are committed to realizing sustainable green tourism," he stated.
More than just hotels, this project is designed to create a green tourism concept destination, focusing not only on environmental conservation but also prioritizing local human resource (HR) development.
Richard stressed that the resorts built will integrate elements of Lombok's culture and natural wealth.
"This project aims to create a sustainable tourism destination by upholding green tourism principles, and it's hoped Lombok's tourism can become an example for other regions in Indonesia," he said.
Not only that, he wants the hotel's presence to provide genuine long-term benefits for the community. Besides creating jobs, the development plan also includes educational initiatives.
"I don't want to see children in Lombok dropping out of school," asserted Richard, adding that his company would build a school to support improving HR quality from an early age.
Construction of the hotel and resort at Mount Tunak is planned to start in 2026, after the land acquisition process concludes in 2025.
This ambitious project is targeted for completion in 2027, simultaneously marking Lombok's new step in combining sport tourism, green tourism, and cultural tourism as its sustainable tourism identity.(Antara)
