Persija Jakarta concluded their 2026 President's Cup campaign by beating Arema FC 3-1 in the third-place playoff match at Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali, on Thursday 6 August. Witan Sulaeman was directly involved in two goals for Shin Tae Yong's squad.
Persija opened the scoring just six minutes into the match. Witan's strike from inside the penalty box towards the near post could not be stopped by Arema FC goalkeeper Syahrul Trisna.
Arema responded by increasing their attacking intensity. Gustavo Franca unleashed a long-range shot in the 12th minute, but the ball drifted wide of Muhammad Hafizh Rizkianur's goal.

Singo Edan's pressure finally paid off in the 27th minute. Salim Tuharea equalised the score after capitalising on a chaotic scramble right in front of Persija's goal. The score became 1-1.
Shortly before half-time, Arema briefly took the lead via Marcos Vinicius in the 40th minute. This goal was disallowed by the referee after a VAR review confirmed Salim Tuharea had committed a handball before passing the ball to Vinicius.
Persija regained the lead in the 72nd minute, as Arlyansyah Abdulmanan converted a feed from Witan Sulaeman. Macan Kemayoran went ahead 2-1.
Vitor Dethan sealed the victory with a solo individual run and finish in the 87th minute. The 3-1 scoreline for Persija held until the final whistle.
This win confirmed Persija finished the tournament in third position, while Arema FC had to settle for fourth place.
