The roar of engines and competitive spirit echoed through Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara, at the Mandalika Kartini Race 2026. More than just a race, this event is part of a grand strategy to establish Mandalika as a world-class Sport Tourism destination.

Eight women racers tackled the international-standard track on Friday, showcasing a blend of speed, skill, and a powerful message of inclusivity in Motorsport

This event not only opens doors for female racers but also reinforces Mandalika's position as a global stage for Automotive Sports.

CEO of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), Priandhi Satria, emphasized that hosting events like this has a dual impact, benefiting both talent development and destination promotion.

"Through events like this, we aim to encourage the emergence of more female racers and strengthen this circuit's position as a world-class sport tourism destination," he stated.

MGPA, he added, is committed to hosting various racing events that are not only competitive but also inclusive for racers from diverse backgrounds.

"Witness the Indonesian Racers who will showcase their racing skills at the Mandalika Kartini Race 2026," he said.

The Mandalika Kartini Race 2026, held from May 1-3, 2026, became a proving ground for Indonesian women racers. One spotlight was on the mother-daughter duo, Vivit Fariana and Patricia Revalina Purnomo, experiencing this circuit for the first time.

For both, this experience marked a significant step in their motorsport journey, especially as they were previously more familiar with gravel tracks like drag racing and rally.

"This is our first time racing in Mandalika, and it feels incredibly fun. It's a new experience for us," said Patricia.

Adaptation was the main challenge. The characteristics of a high-speed permanent asphalt circuit are clearly different from the dirt tracks they had mastered. Yet, this very difference held its own appeal.

"Usually we race on gravel, now we're trying the Mandalika Circuit because it's so much fun," revealed Vivit.

Furthermore, their presence carried a message of equality in the automotive world.

"Motorsport isn't just for guys, it's for anyone. If you have the interest, why not give it a try?" said Vivit.

With its competitive atmosphere and world-class event support, the Mandalika Kartini Race 2026 stands as tangible proof of How Automotive Sport can be a catalyst for sport tourism development.

Mandalika is not merely a racetrack, but a global destination uniting sport, tourism, and empowerment.
