Aston Villa has been officially confirmed to visit Indonesia as part of their pre-season tour series. The English club is scheduled to face Indonesia All Stars at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK), Jakarta, on 1 August this year.

This visit is part of Aston Villa's international agenda after completing an outstanding competitive season. Unai Emery's squad successfully closed their recent campaign by lifting the UEFA Europa League title while also securing a top-four finish in the English Premier League.

"This pre-season tour is an initiative that allows Aston Villa to establish and expand their presence in the Indonesian market," stated Ahmad Satrio, Head of Marketing Communication at Sound Rhythm, during a press conference held in Jakarta on Monday, 22 June 2026.

Satrio explained that the event organisers hope Aston Villa will bring the majority of their first-team players to Jakarta. However, he confirmed the final squad composition cannot be confirmed at this point, as multiple Villa players are currently on international duty with their respective national teams at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Meanwhile, the Indonesia All Stars team will be filled with players competing in Indonesia's domestic league competitions.

Alongside the main match, the organising committee has prepared various programmes to allow fans to interact closely with the Birmingham-based club. Confirmed activities include an official press briefing, open training session, meet and greet sessions, football development workshops, community & CSR programmes, sponsor activation events, and multiple media engagement activities.

High anticipation is expected for Aston Villa's visit, as the club already maintains a steadily growing fanbase within Indonesia, most notably through the official Villans Indonesia supporters community.

This fixture also provides a rare opportunity for Indonesian football fans to watch world-class Aston Villa players perform live in person.

Multiple established international players are currently part of Villa's squad: Emiliano Martínez for Argentina; Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers and Ezri Konsa for England; John McGinn for Scotland; and Youri Tielemans who is a core player for Belgium.

Additionally, Aston Villa's squad includes Dutch defender Ian Maatsen, who is publicly confirmed to have Indonesian ancestral roots.

Regarding venue preparations, Aston Villa representatives have already conducted an on-site inspection of the GBK stadium pitch. This playing surface was last used for Indonesia's international match against Mozambique on 9 June.

"He said this pitch is absolutely excellent," stated Rijal.

A. Rijal, Stadium Manager for the GBK Complex Central Management Authority, confirmed that Aston Villa's delegation gave very positive feedback regarding the pitch condition.

For supporters wishing to attend the match, ticket sales will open on Saturday 27 June starting at 10.00 WIB via the official website AstonVillaJKT.com.

Ticket prices range from IDR 350,000 up to IDR 2,250,000, excluding government taxes, platform fees and administrative charges. Organisers also confirmed that allocated seat numbers will be announced closer to the match date.

"We are targeting maximum possible attendance for this match, as this will be the first visit by an English top-flight club to Indonesia in 10 years," added Satrio.

After completing their agenda in Jakarta, Aston Villa will continue their Asian tour to Thailand, where they will face BG Pathum United at True BG Stadium, Pathum Thani on 4 August.
