Arkhan Kaka Scores a Goal, Indonesia All Stars Loses 1-3 to Aston Villa

Aston Villa secured a 3-1 victory over Indonesia All Stars during their pre-season tour match in Indonesia. Unai Emery's squad sealed the win through goals from Emiliano Buendia, Ross Barkley, and Brian Madjo.

Indonesia All Stars put up resistance in front of tens of thousands of home supporters at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta on Saturday evening. However, Arkhan Kaka's second-half goal only managed to narrow the deficit.

Right from the opening whistle, Aston Villa immediately displayed their quality as one of the top-flight teams in the English Premier League. Emery fielded most of his core players: Victor Lindelof and Pau Torres anchored the defence, John McGinn, Ross Barkley and Emiliano Buendia operated in midfield, while Evann Guessand and Alejandro Garnacho led the attacking line.

Aston Villa's dominance yielded results just three minutes into the match. Emiliano Buendia opened the scoring by converting a cross from Kosta Nedeljovic, who had made an overlapping run down the right flank.

Aston Villa controlled proceedings through consistent ball possession and quick coordinated movement between playing lines.

Despite being pinned back, Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto's side attempted to exploit gaps with rapid counter-attacks.

Indonesia All Stars won a clear chance in the 29th minute. However, Hokky Caraka's shot that had already beaten the opposition goalkeeper only struck the goal frame.

Aston Villa created multiple further opportunities through Kosta Nedeljovic and Pau Torres, but were repeatedly denied by an exceptional performance from Kartika Ajie in goal.

Aston Villa's second goal finally arrived in the 45th minute. Ross Barkley fired a powerful long-range strike from outside the penalty area that Kartika Ajie could not react to, putting Villa 2-0 ahead.

Entering the second half, Emery made a series of substitutions. Tyrone Mings, Matty Cash, and Indonesian-descent left back Ian Maatsen were introduced to maintain Aston Villa's match intensity.

Despite the changed line-up, the visiting side's dominance did not fade. Aston Villa continued to dictate the game tempo and apply constant pressure on the Indonesia All Stars defence.

In the 57th minute, Brian Madjo scored Aston Villa's third goal with a close-range tap-in.

Indonesia All Stars only won another dangerous opportunity in the 72nd minute. Fabio Azka delivered a cross into the box towards Ramai Rumakiek, but the chance was not converted into a goal.

Arkhan Kaka pulled one back for Indonesia All Stars in the 83rd minute, converting a loose rebound from Reno Salampessy's shot.

No further goals were scored for the remainder of the match. Indonesia All Stars were forced to acknowledge Aston Villa's superiority with the final score finishing 1-3.

Aston Villa will continue their pre-season tour to Thailand to face BG Pathum United on Tuesday 4 August. After that fixture, they are scheduled to play Bayern Munich ahead of the UEFA Super Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain on 13 August.

Aston Villa will then conclude their pre-season calendar against Borussia Mönchengladbach, before opening the 2026/2027 English Premier League season with an away trip to Brighton & Hove Albion on 23 August.
