The blue coast of Fethiye, where hills meet the Mediterranean Sea, forms part of the pulse of Turkey's Tourism industry. The Indonesian government is working to ensure Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in Turkey work safely, legally, and with dignity.
Indonesian Ambassador to Turkey Achmad Rizal Purnama conducted a working visit to Fethiye to strengthen protection for Indonesian citizens while opening more safe job opportunities.
Labor protection diplomacy is part of Indonesia's broader strategy to leverage growth in Turkey's Tourism sector.

According to the Indonesian Embassy in Ankara, this visit highlights significant job opportunities for PMI in Turkey, particularly in hospitality, manufacturing, construction, services, and tourism support sectors.
At one of the area's premier properties, Orka Sunlife Resort Hotel, Ambassador Rizal met CEO Uğur Serindağ.
Their discussion emphasized the importance of regulated labor placement mechanisms.
Serindağ, during the meeting with Ambassador Rizal, appreciated Indonesian workers' performance and hopes to recruit more Indonesian workers next year.
Beyond formal agendas, this visit also provided direct engagement with PMI stories. Approximately 40 Indonesian workers at the hotel shared experiences about work rhythms, cultural adaptation, and future aspirations.
"Among many Indonesians wishing to work in Turkey, those present here are the chosen ones. This opportunity must be maintained through hard work, discipline, and professionalism," Ambassador Rizal emphasized.
"Demonstrate that Indonesian workers have strong work ethics, are friendly, responsible, and can uphold Indonesia's reputation," he added.

One PMI, Desi, expressed gratitude for the opportunity.
"We're happy to work here and gain new experiences. Thank you to the Indonesian Embassy in Ankara for visiting us directly, seeing our conditions, and encouraging us to keep working well," said Desi, a PMI from Lampung.
In Turkish tourism from Antalya to Istanbul, hospitality remains a primary gateway for PMI.
Positions like housekeeping, spa therapists, and kitchen staff form the operational backbone of this industry serving millions of tourists annually.
In 2025, Turkey recorded 52.77 million tourists with tourism revenue reaching $61.1 billion USD, ranking it fifth globally among the largest international Tourist Destinations.
Within Turkey's labor system, legal foreign workers receive equal rights to local workers—a crucial foundation for job security.
Surges in PMI placements reflect this trend. KP2MI data shows a 151.36% increase in 2025, while Turkish labor authorities report 13,781 Indonesians hold active work permits in the country.
