Egypt: New Magnet Thanks to the Grand Egyptian Museum
Egypt recorded 20% growth in international visits. One key trigger is the long-awaited opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum near the Giza Pyramids after more than two decades.
This museum serves as a New Attraction drawing back repeat visitors while also appealing to a new generation of travelers. Coupled with improved safety perceptions and enthusiasm for the 2027 solar eclipse, Egypt is increasingly attractive.
Interestingly, the trend in Egypt is shifting towards Slow Travel. Many tourists now choose to sail on traditional wooden dahabiyas along the Nile River instead of large Cruise Ships. The experience becomes more intimate and less rushed.
Brazil: Hub of Culture and World Cuisine
Brazil saw the highest surge at 37%. Improved air connectivity and aggressive international promotion have put this country back on the global Traveler's radar.
But it's not just about Copacabana beach or Christ the Redeemer. Cities like São Paulo are now global hubs for culture and cuisine. Belém, in the Amazon region, is also gaining recognition through the traditional Ver-o-Peso market and exploration of unique ingredients from the rainforest.
Notably, the tourist Profile is changing. Now, many conscious luxury travelers visit Brazil – those seeking nature experiences, wellness, and interaction with local communities.
Ethiopia: Africa's History and Adventure Paradise
Ethiopia recorded 15% growth, becoming one of Africa's brightest stars.
The country offers a blend of archaeology, ancient history, and dramatic landscapes. The rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, the medieval architecture of Gondar, and the Simien Mountains with rare gelada monkeys are major draws.
After being impacted by conflict in recent years, Ethiopia is now rebounding with improved tourism infrastructure and aggressive international promotion.
Young Travelers who enjoy hiking, history, and authentic culture are starting to add Ethiopia to their bucket lists.
Seychelles: Honeymoon and Wellness Travelers
Seychelles grew by 13%, proving that small island destinations can compete.
While long synonymous with honeymoons, Seychelles is now attracting families and wellness travelers. Beyond white-sand beaches, visitors can hike to waterfalls, snorkel, enjoy Creole cuisine, and participate in traditional Moutya dances.
Significantly, the country protects 30% of its marine territory and has no private beaches. All beaches are open to the public, including locals.
Bhutan: The Destination for Finding Meaning
Bhutan recorded a 30% increase, while still adhering to its "high value, low volume" principle. The country charges a Sustainable Development Fee of approximately US$100 per night to maintain quality and sustainability.
Bhutan isn't a destination for quick checklists. Here, travelers are invited to sit with senior monks, learn traditional weaving, or stay in remote valleys.
Bhutan's philosophy of Gross National Happiness makes travel feel more reflective. Perfect for those seeking a break from the world's hustle and bustle.
