Aldila Sutjiadi Wins the WTA 500 Washington Title, Valuable Preparation Capital Ahead of the US Open.

Aldila Sutjiadi did not just bring home a trophy from Washington. She also brought home momentum.

Playing alongside New Zealand tennis player Erin Routliffe, Aldila claimed the doubles title at the 2026 Mubadala Citi DC Open, defeating Andreja Klepac (Slovenia) and Makoto Ninomiya (Japan) 6-4, 6-1 in the final match held Sunday 2 August 2026 WIB.

As the second seeded pair, Aldila and Routliffe performed dominantly. They required only 1 hour and 12 minutes to secure the title at this WTA 500 tournament, which opens the United States hard court season circuit leading up to the US Open.

However, this victory did not come without challenges.

Aldila and Routliffe broke their opponents' serve in the opening game of the first set. They briefly surrendered their advantage when Klepac and Ninomiya broke back to level the score at 4-4.

This moment could have completely changed the direction of the match.

Instead, Aldila and Routliffe responded calmly. They reclaimed the opponents' serve in the ninth game before closing out the first set with a 6-4 win.

The Washington trophy is Aldila's second WTA 500 title of the 2026 season, following her victory with Routliffe at the Bad Homburg Open at the end of June.
