In the mountain ranges of southwest China, an engineering masterpiece has become a global Tourism magnet. The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in Guizhou Province was certified by Guinness World Records (GWR) as the Highest Bridge in the world with a confirmed height of 626.01 meters.

After repeated measurements and verification, this achievement was announced on April 28. The height of the Grand Canyon Bridge surpasses the previous record holder, the Beipanjiang Bridge, which held the record at 565.4 meters since 2018.

This new record is not just a number, but a symbol of engineering ambition that challenges vertical and horizontal limits.

"The final confirmed height of the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge is 626.01 meters, exceeding the previous World Record of 565.4 meters. This challenge has been successfully met," said GWR judge Luo Qiong at the certification ceremony.

This steel frame suspension bridge is a vital part of the Liuzhi-Anlong Expressway project and has been open to traffic since September 28, 2025.

However, its appeal extends beyond transportation. From the outset, the structure was designed to integrate infrastructure with tourism experiences.

Today, the bridge-crossing experience has evolved into a multi-sensory adventure. Tourist elevators transport visitors to dramatic viewpoints, while bungee jumping facilities offer adrenaline rushes from dizzying heights.

When night falls, water curtain light shows transform the landscape into moving canvases reflecting light off the cliffs and fog in the ANTARA.

This world record validation was also supported by cutting-edge technology, including the BeiDou positioning system—navigation technology that previously assisted expeditions on Mount Qomolangma.

The use of this technology underscores the integration of scientific innovation and engineering achievement in large-scale projects.

A representative from Guizhou Communications Investment Group Co., Ltd. stated this certification is international recognition of China's engineering and surveying capabilities, a global legitimacy strengthening the country's position on the world infrastructure development map.

More than just a bridge, Huajiang is a destination—a place where tourists come not only to cross, but to experience human scale, height, and courage. (Xinhua)
