Amid the bustle of Rogojampi Market, Banyuwangi's pulse beats to the rhythm of Train wheels. Rogojampi Station is not merely a stopover, but a Travel hub, bringing together trade, education, work, and Tourism in one space.
This is where the daily journeys of the community begin. Some depart for work, carrying goods, heading to school, or accessing healthcare. The railway tracks slicing through this area keep the rhythm of life moving, as if forming a pulse that never stops beating.
This vital role grew from a long history dating back to the early 20th century. Rogojampi Station was inaugurated by Staatsspoorwegen as part of the 58-kilometer Mrawan–Rogojampi–Banyuwangi line in 1903. At that time, this line was the lifeline for distributing plantation products to the harbor.

Over time, the station's function evolved with the changing needs. From transporting commodities, Rogojampi transformed into a center of community mobility and an engine of economic activity in western Banyuwangi.
Geographically, Rogojampi lies on a strategic corridor, connecting the center of Banyuwangi City in the east with Genteng and Benculuk in the west.
This location makes it an active hub, a place where the flow of people and goods meets throughout the day.
Economic life is clearly visible in the surrounding daily marketplace. Traders, farmers, and small Business owners utilize the train to reach wider markets with more predictable travel times and more efficient logistics costs.
The proximity of Rogojampi Station to Banyuwangi International Airport, about eight kilometers away, expands the meaning of connectivity.
Tourists can transfer from train to plane in a short time, while local residents have more flexible travel options.
For travelers, this convenience opens doors to diverse destinations. From the station, journeys can continue to Alas Purwo National Park, the green corridor of De Djawatan Trembesi, to the waves of Red Island (Pulau Merah) and Mustika Beach.
Rogojampi is not just about Natural Destinations. The cultural identity of the Osing people remains strongly felt around the station, heard in everyday conversations.
Traditions like Kebo-keboan in Aliyan Village continue to live, and easy transport access helps more people witness them firsthand.
The Travel Experience is complete with local flavors. Sego Cawuk, Rujak Soto, and Pecel Pitik are typical dishes often sought by visitors.
The presence of tourists provides direct benefits to food vendors and onward transport providers.
KAI's Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, emphasized the importance of this connectivity.
"Increasingly easy travel helps the community carry out activities more efficiently. Close access between the station and the airport opens up business opportunities, strengthens economic movement, and supports the development of regional Tourism and culture," explained Anne.
All train journeys to and from Banyuwangi now stop at Rogojampi Station. Local services like Probowangi support daily mobility, while long-distance trains like Wijayakusuma, Blambangan Express, and the Bandung–Banyuwangi Sangkuriang service expand the city's reach to various parts of Java.
Public trust continues to rise. In Q1 2026, the number of boarding passengers reached 67,212 people, an increase of about 19.9 percent compared to the same period the previous year. Meanwhile, alighting passengers reached 67,109 people, an increase of 12.2 percent.
These figures point to one simple thing: Rogojampi Station is increasingly aligned with the community's needs. In this place, the economy moves, culture remains alive, and tourism flourishes within a single interconnected travel network.
