One featured program is Tanceping Niat, a guided reflective journey that invites visitors to contemplate their hopes and good intentions while visiting the Unfinished Buddha statue at the temple complex.
Launched on 21 June 2026, this program provides a quiet, respectful atmosphere for visitors seeking dedicated contemplation time within the Borobudur grounds.
Borobudur will also host the Junior Wanderer Holiday Adventure: Family Fun Trip to Borobudur, an educational activity designed for children.
This program guides children to explore the history of Borobudur Temple alongside the surrounding natural landscape through hands-on exploratory activities.
This event will run on 5 July 2026, with participant tickets priced at IDR 150,000 per child. Accompanying parents only need to purchase standard Borobudur Temple entry tickets.
Additionally, visitors may join the Junior Wanderer Heritage Lab held at the Samudraraksa Ship Museum and Karmawibhangga Museum. This program runs cultural workshops including wayang puppet colouring, gamelan classes, and traditional dance lessons every weekend from 27 June through 12 July 2026.
The cultural experience is completed with Tari Kidung Tribangga performances at Beringin Plaza. This dance production, inspired by narrative reliefs carved on Borobudur, will be staged on 20 June, 26 June, and 5 July 2026.
The holiday atmosphere will be further enlivened by Kampung Dolan, hosted at the Samudraraksa Ship Museum from 20 June to 16 July 2026. This dedicated traditional play space invites children and families to rediscover authentic Indonesian folk games.
Multiple regional performing arts will also feature across the school holiday schedule. Visitors can watch the Geger Goa Kiskendo Dance Drama, Menak Kontjer Dance, Warok Manunggal Dance, and Ireng Mask Dance at Beringin Plaza and Borobudur Art Village Amphitheatre from late June through early July 2026.
