Tim Thomas Indonesia displayed Champion mentality when defeating Thailand 3-2 in the second Group D match of Thomas Cup 2026 at Forum Horsens, Horsens, Sunday. Amid the pressure of the decisive match, Moh. Zaki Ubaidillah became the key to the Red and White's victory.
The young Badminton Player affectionately called Ubed played in the fifth match and justified the team's trust with a convincing performance.
Facing Thailand's singles player Tanawat Yimjit, Ubed won two straight games 21-11 and 21-12.

From the start of the first game, Ubed took attacking initiative. His fast and aggressive play disrupted the opponent's rhythm. The Indonesian representative scored point after point, surging to a commanding 13-3 lead.
This momentum was maintained flawlessly. With full net control and pressure from the backcourt, Ubed closed the opening game with a comfortable 21-13 victory.
Entering the second game, the playing pattern remained similar. Ubed continued controlling the tempo while Yimjit attempted resistance through longer rallies. However, the Indonesian representative's composure made the difference.
Midway through the second game, Ubed scored four consecutive points to extend the gap to 13-7. This advantage broke the opponent's spirit and paved the way to victory.
Maintaining pressure until the final point, Ubaidillah sealed the second game 21-12, confirming Indonesia's 3-2 victory over Thailand.
Earlier, Indonesia had been locked in a tight duel. Jonatan Christie conceded to Kunlavut Vitidsarn after a rubber game.
Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh. Reza Pahlevi Isfahani then leveled the score after defeating Chaloempoen Charoenkitamorn/Worrapol Thongsa-nga.
Thailand regained pressure when Alwi Farhan fell to Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul. However, Fajar Alfian/Nikolaus Joaquin preserved Indonesia's hopes with a dramatic rubber-game victory over Peyeratchai Sukphun/Pakkapon Teeraratsakul.
This win gives the Indonesian Thomas Cup team back-to-back group stage victories after previously defeating Algeria. Beyond that, Ubaidillah's performance signals Indonesia's emergence of new strength ready for the big stage.
