Indonesia's Badminton Team is ready to challenge the world once again. The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has officially announced the list of 16 men's and 16 women's teams that will compete in the 2026 Thomas and Uber Cup in Horsens, Denmark, from April 24 to May 3, 2026.

This most prestigious team tournament in the badminton calendar will feature the strongest squads from every continent.

The path to the finals was challenging, requiring qualification through continental team championships, supplemented by host quotas, defending champions, and world rankings.

Thomas Cup: Strength Map Takes Shape

For the Thomas Cup, slots were awarded to semi-finalists of the Asian and European Team Championships, plus champions from Africa, Pan America, and Oceania, along with hosts and defending champions. Several other teams qualified through world rankings.

Seedings were determined by the accumulated world rankings of each country's top three men's singles players and two best Men's Doubles pairs as of February 17, 2026.

Defending champions China claimed top seeding with 390,513 points. Asian champions Japan secured fourth seeding with 304,891 points. France earned fifth seeding after winning the European Team Championships.

Algeria (African champions), Australia (Oceania), and Canada (Pan America) secured spots as regional champions.

Malaysia, India, and Thailand completed the lineup through world rankings.

Indonesia brings a long Thomas Cup tradition. Consistency in singles and strength in Men's Doubles form the foundation to pursue supremacy again.

Uber Cup: Women's Team Mission

In the women's division, competition is equally fierce. Bulgaria made history by winning the European Women's Team Championship for the first time.

Bulgaria qualified for the Uber Cup finals alongside runner-up Denmark, plus other semi-finalists Ukraine and Turkey.

From Asia, South Korea as Asian champions secured their spot, followed by runner-up China (also defending Uber Cup champions), plus semi-finalists Taiwan and Indonesia.

South Africa (African champions), Canada (Pan American champions), and Australia (Oceania champions) also qualified.

Remaining slots based on world rankings went to Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, India, and France.

For Indonesia, qualifying for the finals is a crucial moment to rebuild competitiveness in the women's division while maintaining their reputation in the men's.

The group stage draw is scheduled for March 18, 2026 – a pivotal moment determining Indonesia's path in Denmark.
