Manchester City sent a strong signal to Arsenal in the hunt for the 2025/2026 Premier League title. The narrow 1-0 win over Burnley not only took The Citizens to the top of the standings, but also showcased the Champion mentality that Pep Guardiola believes will be the difference in the final stages of the season.
Guardiola feels the pressure of the title race will actually strengthen his team. With five games remaining, every point is crucial, and City is back in the leading position.
"I am sure a situation like this will have a positive impact on all the players, on all of us, and on this club going forward," Guardiola said regarding the Premier League title battle, quoted from the club's official website.

The victory at Turf Moor did not come easily. Although Burnley were ultimately confirmed as relegated, they posed a threat in the closing minutes when Goalkeeper Martin Dubravka joined the attack during injury time.
However, Guardiola sees such tense moments as a crucial part of building his squad's character.
According to the manager from Spain, repeatedly experiencing this pressure will make City's players increasingly ready for decisive matches.
"Overall we played very well. The team spirit was good, the way we played was good, we created many chances, we just weren't clinical enough in front of goal," Guardiola said.
Statistics show City took 28 shots with an expected goals (xG) value reaching 3.5. However, poor finishing meant only one goal was scored.
The only goal came early through Erling Haaland in the fifth minute. The Norwegian striker met Jeremy Doku's pass and calmly chipped the ball over Dubravka.
That goal was Haaland's 24th in the Premier League this season and his 35th in all competitions.
Although City failed to capitalize on many chances, Haaland emphasized the final result is far more important than the winning margin.
"A 1-0 win is a very good result. I'm happy we won and got three points. Now we are top of the table, so just enjoy it for now," Haaland said, quoted from City's official website on Thursday.
The 25-year-old striker also wasn't overly concerned by the fact City created 29 chances but only scored once. For him, the main focus is to keep winning and maintain the position above Arsenal.
"Yes, we had a lot of chances, but the important thing is we won. Don't think about the other things, just focus on continuing to win," Haaland stated.
City and Arsenal both have 70 points with a goal difference of +37. However, City leads in goals scored, 66 to 63, Putting them top of the table for now.
The race isn't over. Arsenal have a chance to reclaim top spot when they face Newcastle United this weekend.
Meanwhile, City will shift focus to the FA Cup Semi-final against Southampton at Wembley before returning to league action against Everton.
