City played with high intensity right from the first minute. Their 72.3% ball possession paints a clear picture of Guardiola's squad dominance throughout the entire fixture.
Phil Foden acted as the home side's playmaker, while Antoine Semenyo and Omar Marmoush continuously put pressure on Palace's defensive line.
Despite being pinned back, Palace briefly shocked the Etihad crowd in the 23rd minute. Jean-Philippe Mateta converted Brennan Johnson's cross into a goal, but the away side's celebrations were cut short after VAR confirmed Mateta had been in an offside position.
The threats did not stop there. Multiple fast counter-attacks from Palace forced Gianluigi Donnarumma to work hard between City's goalposts.
City finally broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute. Phil Foden played a clever backheel pass just outside the penalty box, which Antoine Semenyo directed into the corner of Palace's goal. Semenyo's goal shifted momentum fully for City to take control of the match.
Only eight minutes later, City punished Palace's backline once again. Foden remained the creator, as Omar Marmoush finished off his second assist of the night. The Citizens closed the first half with a 2-0 advantage.
After the half-time break, City retained full control of the game. Palace got an opportunity in the 64th minute when Bernardo Silva lost possession, but Ismaila Sarr's weak final shot was easily secured by Donnarumma.
Another chance came in the 83rd minute through Jorgen Strand Larsen. Receiving Adam Wharton's floated cross, Larsen's attempt sailed well over the crossbar.
One minute later, City confirmed their victory through Savinho. A fast attack started by Rayan Cherki's solo run was finished by Savinho for the home side's third goal.
Savinho's goal closed the match with a 3-0 win for City, while also maintaining pressure on Arsenal in this season's Premier League title race.
On the other side, Crystal Palace remain in 16th position with 44 points. Despite the defeat, Palace have already mathematically secured their safety and will return to compete in the Premier League next season.
