Barcelona Dramatically Eliminated, Atletico Madrid Advance to Copa del Rey Final Despite 0-3 Defeat at Camp Nou.

Barcelona's dream of overturning their deficit in the Copa del Rey 2025/2026 ended bitterly. Despite a convincing 3-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the second leg semifinal at Camp Nou early Wednesday morning WIB, March 4, 2026, Blaugrana were still eliminated, losing 3-4 on aggregate.

Ironically, the impressive home victory wasn't enough to erase the pain of the crushing 0-4 defeat in the first leg in Madrid. Atletico Madrid advanced to the Copa del Rey final with a 4-3 aggregate score.

Barcelona's three goals in this match were scored by Marc Bernal (2) and Raphinha.

Barcelona Starts Aggressively

Trailing by four goals on aggregate, Barca took the initiative to attack from the first whistle. High pressure was applied to chase the significant deficit burdening them.

Raphinha created an opportunity, but his shot veered wide to the left of Atletico's goal.

The goal Camp Nou awaited came in the 29th minute. A pass from Lamine Yamal was converted into a goal by Marc Bernal. The score changed to 1-0 for Barcelona in the 29th minute.

Atletico briefly responded, but Ademola Lookman's header went wide of the Barca goal.

Barca boosted their hopes when Raphinha doubled their lead to 2-0 in the 45+5 minute. Barcelona led 2-0 at halftime, following Hansi Flick's scenario of two goals per half.  

Bernal Scores Brace But It's Not Enough

Entering the second half, Blaugrana continued to besiege Atletico's defense, seeking two more goals, at least to level the aggregate score. 

The intensity of play remained high, with pressing and quick ball distribution in the final third.

Bernal scored his second goal, making it 3-0 in the 72nd minute.

Camp Nou briefly roared. One more goal would force extra time. However, Flick's scenario didn't go according to plan in the second half, as the needed fourth goal never arrived.

Until the final whistle, the score remained 3-0 for Blaugrana.

Atletico Heads to Final in Seville

With this result, Atletico Madrid secured their place in the Copa del Rey final. They will face the winner of the Real Sociedad vs Athletic Club match in the final scheduled for April 25, 2026, at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville.

For Barcelona, this 3-0 victory serves as a bitter reminder that consistency across both legs is everything. Their impressive performance at Camp Nou couldn't cover up the damage already done in Madrid.

Blaugrana won, but Atletico advanced to the final. Barcelona followed in the footsteps of their eternal rivals, Real Madrid, who had already been eliminated in the Round of 16.
