The acclimatization program becomes the key focus in the roadmap of the All Indonesia Badminton Association towards All England 2026. Amid the demands of the highest-level BWF World Tour Super 1000, PBSI has chosen a comprehensive adaptation approach as the performance foundation in England.
The All England Open Badminton Championships 2026 will be held at Utilita Arena Birmingham from March 3-8. For the Indonesian team, preparation involves not only technique and strategy but also conquering European weather, time zone differences, and arena characteristics.
Head of Development and Achievement at PP PBSI, Eng Hian, emphasized this phase's importance in the preparation cycle.

“Acclimatization is a crucial factor. The team will undergo an acclimatization program from February 24-28, 2026 in Milton Keynes. Subsequently, on March 1, the team will relocate to Birmingham to ensure optimal adaptation time with the competition venue,” stated Eng Hian in an official release on Monday.
Milton Keynes was chosen deliberately, offering adequate training facilities and a conducive environment to restore training rhythm after the long journey from Indonesia to Europe.
It's expected that upon arriving in Birmingham, players won't be burdened by basic adjustment processes.
PBSI recognizes that All England isn't merely a regular tournament. Its Super 1000 status demands mental resilience and gameplay consistency from the earliest rounds.
“Competing at Super 1000 level tests both quality and mentality. We want them to courageously face pressure, learn from major matches, and showcase their best performance,” Eng Hian remarked.
A total of 24 Indonesian athletes are scheduled to compete, including debutants like Alwi Farhan, Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin, Rahmat Hidayat, Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum, Meilysa Trias Puspitasari, Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Pasaribu, and Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah.
For these players, acclimatization serves as the vital bridge between potential and elite-stage performance.
PBSI's target is optimal performance from the opening match and sustained consistency throughout each game.
Beyond athlete adaptation, PP PBSI is restructuring the Men's Doubles coaching sector as part of team revitalization.
Chafidz Yusuf will serve as main men's doubles assistant coach alongside Antonius, while Thomas Indratjaja becomes primary men's doubles assistant coach supporting Andrei Adistia.
This move aims to maintain a fresh, adaptive training atmosphere responsive to top-level competition demands.
With structured acclimatization and coaching revitalization, Indonesia isn't merely participating in Birmingham.
They arrive with meticulous preparation—pursuing consistency, mental toughness, and competitive opportunities at one of World Badminton's most prestigious tournaments.
