Indonesian Badminton player Indonesia Anthony Sinisuka Ginting considers the men's singles competition at Swiss Open 2026 to be highly competitive. With numerous world top players participating, Ginting prefers to focus on his own game rather than anticipating his next opponent.
“We can see the player lineup here includes many of the best players, so it will be exciting,” stated Ginting in a release from the Indonesian Badminton Association on Thursday.
The 29-year-old athlete secured his spot in the second round after defeating Taiwanese shuttler Wang Tzu Wei 21-11, 21-17 at St. Jakobshalle, Basel, on Thursday morning WIB.

According to Ginting, the key to victory was his boldness in developing gameplay against Wang's famously solid defense.
“I was more courageous in constructing rallies. Against Wang Tzu Wei, you can't easily gain points, so I had to be brave in developing my game and testing strategies,” said Ginting.
In the second round, Ginting will face world number 26 Wang Zheng Xing from China.
This match will mark their first encounter at the international level.
Amid the evenly-matched men's singles field, Ginting hopes to maintain his focus and performance to progress further in this year's Swiss Open.
