Bogor – The Indonesian Footgolf Federation (FFGI) is targeting to increase the count of official registered clubs from the current 6, to between 8 and 10 clubs in the near future. This development priority for the sport was announced during the 2026 Tupessy Footgolf Matchday, hosted at Palm Hills Golf Club, Sentul, Bogor on Sunday 5 July 2026.
This tournament drew approximately 40 participants from the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) region, and also served as the official launch for Tupessy Footgolf Club alongside the introduction of the Fun Footgolf initiative. Both programmes form part of wider efforts to grow the footgolf community and introduce the sport to the general public.
The competition followed an 18-hole format, contested for the Best Gross category. Beyond acting as a competitive gathering for players, the event offered a total prize pool of IDR 8 million, alongside trophies, medals, door prizes and lucky draw items provided by event partners.

Amrit Punjabi, Chairman of the Indonesian Footgolf Federation, confirmed the federation is committed to supporting all tournaments held under official partnership with FFGI. According to Punjabi, running events such as this Tupessy Footgolf Matchday is a strategic measure to expand the reach of footgolf, while strengthening community development and formal club networks across the country.
"The federation backs every match we partner with, including this Tupessy Matchday. We also assist with promotion to draw wider participation, and this tournament helps raise public profile for the Tupessy Club as well," Amrit stated.
He confirmed FFGI currently oversees 6 official registered clubs. This number is projected to grow to 8-10 clubs over the coming months, as public interest continues to rise for this sport which combines core elements of football and golf. Amrit added that tournaments like this also act as a talent development platform for athletes, while expanding local footgolf communities nationwide.
This developmental ethos was reflected in tightly contested on-course action throughout the event. Rian Ramdani claimed 1st place Best Gross with a score of 68, followed by Dimas in 2nd place with 69. Anas took 3rd Best Gross with 74, while Rizal and Imam finished 4th and 5th Best Gross respectively.

Imam Fauzy Rahmawan, founder and active member of Tupessy Footgolf Club, explained the club was established following the federation's plans to launch an official national footgolf league. All players were required to hold affiliation with a registered club to compete, which became the catalyst for forming Tupessy Footgolf Club.
"Tupessy was originally founded because the federation was preparing the league, and every registered player needed official club membership first. That is how this club came about," Imam said.
At present, Tupessy Footgolf Club has 6 active members and is currently focused on internal organisational strengthening. For this reason, the club will not open public member recruitment in the immediate short term.
Positive outlook on the sport's growth was also shared by tournament participant Arif. He noted that footgolf communities across Indonesia have become increasingly active in organising regular activities and tournaments, driving rising public awareness of the sport.
"Footgolf has been developing really well so far, the communities are very active. I hope this sport will become even more widely known and enjoyed across the country," Arif commented.
Through the 2026 Tupessy Footgolf Matchday, FFGI aims to encourage the emergence of more clubs, communities and footgolf enthusiasts in all regions. Federation support, the launch of Tupessy Footgolf Club and Fun Footgolf, alongside strong participant enthusiasm, form a solid foundation to build a robust, sustainable footgolf ecosystem in Indonesia.
