Pedaling to Tropical Paradise: GFNY Invites Cyclists to Explore Belitung Tourism

Exercise isn't always about speed and endurance. In Belitung, cycling is a visual journey that feasts the eyes. That's the message GFNY Indonesia aims to convey through its group cycling event, while introducing Belitung Island's charm as a world-class Sport Tourism destination.

GFNY Indonesia invites cyclists to experience pedaling through unique natural landscapes—urban routes, rural paths, and Belitung's iconic white sandy coastlines. 

This Sunday, February 8th activity also marks the prelude to the main event: GFNY Belitung 2026.

GFNY Indonesia Founder Axel Moeller stated GFNY Belitung 2026 is scheduled for June 21, 2026. The event is expected to attract national and international cyclists.

The group started cycling from Batu Satam Roundabout, Belitung’s kilometer zero point. The route took participants through the city, serene rural trails, and Belitung's pristine, beautiful beaches.

Participants also passed Tanjung Pendam area, which will be the center of GFNY Belitung 2026 activities. 

The route continued to Sentra Batik Sepiak Belitung, the front area of Sheraton Belitung Resort, Tanjung Kelayang Beach with its Garuda Rock icon, and Tanjung Tinggi Beach—known for its ancient granite beauty—before finishing at Fairfield by Marriott Belitung Hotel.

More than recreation, GFNY Belitung 2026 carries international competition weight. Axel emphasized the event also holds GFNY Asia Championship 2026 status, attracting cyclists from various countries.

“We see Belitung Tourism has extraordinary, world-class potential that will undoubtedly delight GFNY Riders from Indonesia and abroad," said Axel in a Jakarta statement on Tuesday.

As part of the global prestigious cycling calendar, GFNY Belitung 2026 offers unique appeal. 

Overall male and female champions will automatically earn Asian Champion titles, plus receive complimentary race entry, hotel, and round-trip flights to compete at GFNY World Championship 2026 in New York, USA.

Full support comes from local government. In a virtual address, Belitung Regent Djoni Alamsyah affirmed Belitung possesses unique natural wealth and geological history.
