Pariaman City, West Sumatra, on Sunday morning was not just a Sports arena, but also a symbol of revival. The Talao Beach Run, a Sports Tourism event, became a marker of new optimism for an area previously struck by hydrometeorological disasters in late 2025.
Initiated by CV Prodesse Cipta Karya, this activity utilizes coastal landscapes as communal spaces for movement, nature appreciation, and revitalizing the local economy.
Amidst the rhythm of Running shoes and sea air at ANTARA, Pariaman's Tourism began regaining its momentum.

"This event boosts community economies and promotes tourist attractions, making Pariaman City bustling with visitors again," stated Mayor Yota Balad during the event in Pariaman on Sunday.
For Yota, the Talao Beach Run transcends competition. It serves as a platform to introduce Talao Pauh to broader audiences, blending physical experience with natural beauty in its promotional approach.
He emphasized the need to intensify promotion efforts, especially after Pariaman's Tourism sector was severely impacted by hydrometeorological disasters affecting West Sumatra.
"We must rise together to revive our economy," he asserted.
Positioned as the opener for Pariaman's Sports Tourism series, the city government hopes similar activities will be organized by communities and other parties to broaden participation and enrich the regional Tourism calendar.
Throughout 2026, Pariaman City Government plans various events to attract tourists.
The focus extends beyond visitor numbers to economic impact, particularly for micro, small, and medium enterprises that form the coastal area's lifeblood.
Technically, Talao Beach Run 2026 is designed inclusively. Participant categories include students aged 10-15 for 5 kilometers, and general participants aged 17+ for 5km and 10km distances.
The route guides runners through urban and coastal landscapes—from Talao Pauh, across main intersections, to turtle Conservation areas before returning to the beachfront finish line.
Broadly, Talao Beach Run is one component of Pariaman's larger effort to assert its identity as a Tourism City.
The city government, alongside communities and stakeholders, has prepared 43 event agendas for 2026 spanning arts, culture, and sports.
"We've coordinated with Pariaman's regional apparatus organizations, vertical institutions, West Sumatra University, and communities to compile 2026 activities for the events calendar," explained Ferialdi, Head of Pariaman's Tourism and Culture Office.
He believes these dozens of activities will sustainably draw tourists to this city nicknamed Tabuik City.
At Talao Pauh, running becomes a universal language—a simple way to celebrate nature, restore spirit, and reconnect people with once-wounded spaces.
Talao Beach Run proves tourism doesn't always start with crowds, but with consistent small steps.
