When dawn still hangs low over the Indian Ocean on D-day, thousands of runners will begin their journey from one of the world's most iconic beaches. Kuta Beach in Badung Regency, Bali will host Kuta Run 2026, a stage for Sports, Tourism, and environmental awareness.

Kuta Beach in Badung Regency, Bali, will host an international Running competition with three categories: 5km, 10km, and 21km or half Marathon.

The event offers the sensation of running along the beach without traffic congestion, passing through Tourism Villages that have long been the lifeblood of Bali Tourism.

"There's a sensation of running by the beach without experiencing Kuta's traffic density," said Kuta Run 2026 Committee Chair Emmy Kalsum in Kuta, Badung Regency, Bali, on Tuesday.

The race is scheduled for January 25, 2026, starting at 04:00 AM Central Indonesia Time, traversing Bali's famous tourist areas including Kuta Village, Seminyak, and Legian.

More than just a race, Kuta Run is designed as a cross-sector celebration, blending sports with culture and Conservation.

She explained that they have secured recommendations from the Bali Indonesian Athletics Association (PASI) to organize the inaugural running event combined with cultural and environmental preservation activities in Kuta.

To ensure route safety and feasibility, the committee has conducted course simulations with athletes.

Support has come from various parties.

The event has also received green lights from police, Transportation Department, and local village governments.

One day before the race, participants and committee members will be invited to see another side of Bali – tranquil, fragile, and in need of protection.

Kuta Run 2026 will attract not only local and national runners, but also the global running community.

Participants include runners from Bali, across Indonesia, and international entrants including from England and Russia.

From the tourism industry perspective, this event is seen as a crucial strategy to strengthen Bali's position as a Sport Tourism destination.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chair of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) for Badung Regency Komang Alit Ardana expressed support for the running competition.

"We continuously promote our region amid competition with neighboring countries," said Alit Ardana.

Although occurring about a month from now, ticket bookings are already open with race ticket prices starting from IDR 400 thousand for the 5km category up to IDR 1,150,000 for the open 21km category.
