I.League has officially announced the competition calendar for the 2026/2027 League Cup, the supporting tournament for the upcoming league season. This competition is confirmed to kick off on 3 November 2026, with a schedule aligned to both domestic competitions and international fixtures.

This decision forms part of the 2026/2027 season competition calendar updates, created to provide all clubs with clear certainty when arranging their team programmes throughout the season.

League Cup kicks off 3 November

According to official notice from I.League, all group stage matches will be held on weekdays.

The group phase is divided into three matchdays: 3–5 November 2026, 24–26 November 2026, and 1–3 December 2026.

This scheduling was arranged after accounting for both national and international competition calendars, so that it will not disrupt club or national team agendas.

Knockout stage begins January 2027

After the group stage concludes, the tournament will proceed to the Round of 12, held on 15–17 January 2027.

The quarter-finals will then take place on 30–31 January 2027. At this phase, Indonesia's two representatives competing in AFC club competitions, Persib Bandung and Borneo FC, will enter the tournament directly, bringing the total number of participating teams to eight.

Quarter-final winners will advance to the semi-finals on 21 April 2027.

Meanwhile, the final match is currently scheduled for 19 May 2027.

However, I.League has confirmed that schedule adjustments will be considered if any Indonesian representative competing in AFC or AFF Shopee Cup fixtures also reaches the League Cup final while still active in international competitions.

Championship brought forward by one week

Alongside the League Cup schedule announcement, I.League has also implemented revisions to the Championship competition calendar.

Originally scheduled to launch on 18 September 2026, the Championship will now kick off one week earlier on 12 September 2026.

Schedules for Liga Nusantara, Elite Pro Academy (EPA) Super League, and EPA Championship will be announced separately at a later date.

Calendar compiled in coordination with PSSI

The 2026/2027 season calendar was developed through intensive coordination between I.League and PSSI, including formal reviews during the PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) meeting.

This drafting process followed official FIFA, AFC and AFF calendars, while also accommodating the Indonesia National Team schedule, Ramadan observance, and national public holidays to avoid fixture clashes across all running competitions.

Ferry Paulus: Clubs require certainty from the start of the season

I.League Chief Executive Officer Ferry Paulus confirmed that publishing the calendar this far in advance is a critical measure to enable every club to carry out proper, thorough long term planning.

"We have finalised and updated the 2026/27 calendar early specifically so clubs have full certainty for their preparations. The League Cup schedule has also been aligned with all domestic and international competition calendars, to ensure clubs competing in continental Asian fixtures will not face scheduling conflicts", Ferry stated.

Full detailed match timetables, draw results, official regulations, and full operational implementation details for the League Cup will be announced in the coming period.
