Persija Retains Goalkeeper Andritany, Loyalty and Leadership Are the Main Reasons

Persija Jakarta have confirmed that one of the club's iconic figures will remain at the side. The Kemayoran Tigers have officially extended senior goalkeeper Andritany Ardhiyasa's contract for one season, running until the conclusion of the 2026/2027 BRI Super League campaign.

This decision proves Persija still place enormous trust in the 34-year old shot stopper. This is not only owed to his quality between the sticks, but also his proven leadership and positive influence inside the dressing room.

Persija Retain An Experienced Club Figurehead

Persija Jakarta President Mohamad Prapanca explained the contract extension was reached after weighing multiple considerations, covering both technical performance and Andritany's value as a senior presence within the playing squad.

"His loyalty, leadership, and positive impact across the entire team are why we have retained him for one more season," stated Prapanca.

Per Prapanca, Andritany's presence remains critical to help Persija uphold high playing standards, while also serving as a clear role model for the club's next generation of players.

Crucial Mentoring Role For Young Players

Beyond being relied upon on match days, Andritany's long tenure with Persija is viewed as a key asset for building team mentality this season.

Prapanca is confident the goalkeeper can guide both academy youngsters and new signings to adapt faster to the demands of representing the Kemayoran Tigers.

"His experience is required to mentor and give proper guidance to our young players and new arrivals. This will let them deliver their best performance, and help Persija fight to hit our highest targets this season," he added.

Andritany: This Trust Will Be Honoured

For Andritany himself, this new contract holds very special meaning. Since joining in 2010 he has become an inseparable part of Persija's history, and now once again been entrusted to lead the squad.

The Jakarta-born goalkeeper reaffirmed he will continue to give his absolute best for as long as he is trusted to wear the Persija jersey.

"As long as I have this trust, I will always give everything I have. I will support the team on and off the pitch, maintain a positive squad atmosphere, and pass on my experience to the younger players," he confirmed.

Over A Decade Guarding Persija's Goal

Andritany has represented Persija since 2010, making him one of the longest-serving players currently at the club.

During his time with the Kemayoran Tigers, he has registered approximately 278 appearances across all official competitions, with 94 clean sheets recorded.

For the 2025/2026 season, Andritany featured in 11 matches and notched five clean sheets, despite facing internal competition for his place via team rotation.
