Kemala Run 2026: Dr. Tirta Says Route More Challenging and Unique

The Kemala Run 2026 event held in Gianyar, bali on Sunday, April 19, 2026, delivered a memorable experience for thousands of runners, including health influencer and educator Tirta Mandira Hudhi, also known as Dokter Tirta.

Among the tens of thousands of participants, Tirta noted this year's race route offered higher difficulty compared to previous editions. The challenging track characteristics were the main attraction, especially the uphill section approaching the finish line.

“The track was excellent and very challenging. There's a fairly steep hill around KM17 that made it distinctive,” said Tirta.

Participating in the Half Marathon (HM) category with the SAC Running Club community, Tirta achieved his target time, finishing in approximately 1 hour 5 minutes. He considered this consistent with his training plan for upcoming races.

“I joined the Half Marathon with a time around 1 hour 5 minutes. This met my target since I'm competing in London next week, so it's part of my training,” he stated.

Beyond the challenging route, Tirta highlighted the quality of facilities provided by organizers. He praised the well-organized water stations that ensured runner comfort throughout the race.

“The water stations were neatly arranged, which is crucial for runners. Overall, this event was exciting and challenging,” he remarked.

He further noted the significant elevation gain was a signature feature of Kemala Run. While surprising to some participants, this condition added unique value to the event.

“Many didn't expect such steep inclines, but that's precisely what makes it unique. This event should maintain that character,” he emphasized.

Tirta expressed hope for the event's annual Continuity, citing its potential to boost Sport Tourism in Bali while offering runners distinctive experiences.

“Hopefully events like this can continue every year given their appeal and potential,” he commented.

He also proposed reintroducing cycling elements in future editions, considering Kemala's strong association with the sport.

“Kemala is also known for cycling events; perhaps they could bring that back in the future,” he suggested.

Notably, Kemala Run 2026 started and finished at the Bali United Training Center in Gianyar Regency, Bali. Approximately 11,000 domestic and international runners participated across 5K, 10K, and 21K categories.
