Persib Bandung Secures ACL II Round of 16 Ticket After Defeating Bangkok United

Persib Bandung secured their place in the round of 16 of the AFC Champions League Two (ACL Two) 2025/2026 after a crucial 1-0 victory over Bangkok United in the final Group G match at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA), on Wednesday night, December 10, 2025.
This result confirms Maung Bandung as group champions with 13 points. Meanwhile, Bangkok United in second place with 10 points advanced to the knockout phase as runners-up.
From the early minutes, the match atmosphere heated up immediately. Persib earned a golden opportunity after Uilliam Barros was fouled in the penalty box. However, Barros' execution was brilliantly denied by Bangkok United goalkeeper Patiwat Khammai.

The outstanding Patiwat thwarted Ramon Tanque's chance. Meanwhile, Luciano Guaycochea's effort was denied by the crossbar.
Bangkok United wasn't without threats. In the 28th minute, a mistake by Persib's back line gave space to Suphan, but his shot still went wide of Teja Paku Alam's goal.
Persib kept pressing, but the deadlock was broken just before halftime. Berguinho's measured cross was converted by Ramon Tanque with an accurate header. Persib led 1-0 at the break.
Entering the second half, Maung Bandung remained aggressive. Repeated pressure troubled Bangkok United.
The visitors intensified their play to find an equalizer. However, Persib's defense appeared solid, disciplined, and managed to neutralize the opponent's attacks.
In the 77th minute, Persib almost doubled their lead through a quick counterattack. Beckham Putra Nugraha's pass was met by Saddil Ramdani, but his finish was still blocked by a Bangkok United defender.
Three minutes later, Julio Cesar's header was saved by Patiwat.
