Sassuolo had to settle for a point after being held to a 2-2 draw by Pisa in week 12 of the 2025/26 Italian League at Mapei Stadium, early Tuesday morning WIB on November 25, 2025. Indonesian national team defender Jay Idzes again started as a key player, completing the full 90 minutes.

The match was tight from the opening minutes. Promoted side Pisa played aggressively and took an early lead in the 4th minute through M'Bala Nzola's penalty conversion.

The referee pointed to the spot after Fali Cande fouled Idrissa Toure in the box. Nzola calmly beat goalkeeper Arijanet Muric to put the visitors ahead 1-0.

Sassuolo responded just two minutes later. From a corner kick, Nemanja Matic fired a powerful left-footed volley past goalkeeper Adrian Semper, leveling the score at 1-1 in the 6th minute.

After two quick goals, the game's tempo slowed. Both teams attempted to build attacks but created no clear chances. The 1-1 scoreline held until halftime.

In the second half, Sassuolo increased pressure in front of their home fans. However, Pisa remained disciplined and occasionally threatened on the counter.

The situation shifted when Henrik Meister fired into the near post after beating Jay Idzes' defensive partner Tarik Muharemovic, putting Pisa ahead 2-1.

Sassuolo pushed relentlessly until the final minutes. Their efforts paid off in injury time when Kristian Thorstvedt equalized with a right-footed flick from a cross, making it 2-2.

No further goals were scored before the final whistle. With the point, Sassuolo collected 17 points to sit ninth.

Pisa remained 16th with 10 points, just two points above the relegation zone.
