For some world-class riders, the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit is not just a racetrack for speed battles, but a tropical holiday destination with unparalleled scenery.
The stretch of white sandy beaches, shimmering blue seawater, and green hills surrounding the track make the Indonesian MotoGP race uniquely charming compared to other racing series.
Franco Morbidelli, rider of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, even described racing at Mandalika as feeling like a vacation.

"It's beautiful to be able to race in Indonesia, especially because it's a stunning place. This circuit is located on a magical island, and it doesn't look like a racing venue—it looks more like a holiday spot: sand, beautiful beaches, and everything," said Morbidelli at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
Beyond the natural panorama, Morbidelli also admitted that the energy from Indonesian spectators makes the racing atmosphere even more special.
"We also have a title sponsor, which is the largest oil company for Indonesia and Asia overall. So, we have extra support from the people at Pertamina, and again, from Indonesian fans who use Pertamina," he added.
With this spirit, Morbidelli—who recently secured a positive fifth-place finish at the Japanese GP—is determined to perform at his best alongside his teammate Fabio Di Giannantonio.
"So, it will be an important task to give our best, both of us, from me and Fabio (Di Giannantonio)," he stated.
Like Morbidelli, Di Giannantonio also fell in love with Mandalika.
"Of course, the circuit is amazing. The layout is really enjoyable," said Diggia, his nickname.
For the number 49 rider, racing at Mandalika feels like a home game.
"It feels like a home race for us, for the supporters, for Pertamina Enduro of course, which gives us extra push on the track," he expressed.
He also admitted being captivated by the magical atmosphere created by Mandalika's natural surroundings.
"The energy around, as I said, from nature (around the circuit), is incredible. So, I can’t wait to jump on track whenever I come here, to see the crowd, the people, and enjoy the weekend in general," Diggia shared.
This season, both Morbidelli and Diggia will race in special Red-and-White batik-patterned liveries combined with the VR46 team's signature neon yellow—a symbol of collaboration between local culture and global spirit.
The Indonesian GP at Mandalika, taking place October 3–6, 2025, also marks the circuit’s fourth year on the official MotoGP calendar.
Year after year, Mandalika has not only become a world-class racetrack but also a stage where Indonesia’s natural beauty blends with the roar of the fastest motorcycles on the planet. (Antara)
