Ahead of the 2027 MotoGP New Regulations, VR46 Prepares Big Rider Strategy

Ahead of the 2027 MotoGP regulation changes, Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is beginning to prepare strategic moves. Not merely a rider rotation, but an effort to build a new balance between experience and regeneration.

This signal comes from Team Director Uccio Salucci, who acknowledges rider composition will be a primary focus in welcoming MotoGP's new era.

"One experienced rider and one young rider. That's my idea, but I don't know," stated Uccio Salucci as quoted by Motorsport on Tuesday.

In modern racing landscapes, this approach isn't new but becomes increasingly relevant when technical regulations change. 

Adaptation to the bike, racing strategy, and technical development demand a combination of mature instinct and exploratory courage.

The team owned by Valentino Rossi is now in a crucial evaluation phase. Decisions made will impact not only short-term performance but also the team's development direction over coming seasons.

"Currently everything is in process. It's very difficult (to make decisions). Among other things, I want to see the limits of our current riders, Di Giannantonio and Morbidelli," said Uccio.

The 2026 season becomes a decisive stage for Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli.

Both continue to hold the main grid spots unchanged from previous seasons.

However, this status now carries immense pressure – endure or be displaced by the team's new vision.

Behind the scenes, VR46's radar is shifting toward young talent. Fermin Aldeguer emerges as a potential candidate. 

The rider currently representing Gresini Racing is considered highly promising.

Especially given the identical Ducati Desmosedici packages used by both teams – a factor that could accelerate adaptation if a transfer occurs.

The 2027 MotoGP regulation changes are predicted to comprehensively alter competition characteristics, including technical approaches to bikes and team strategies. 

In this context, VR46 isn't just discussing who's fastest, but who's most prepared to evolve with technological advancements.
