The Best FIFA 2025 Race Begins, Mbappé to Lamine Yamal Set to Compete

The prestigious The Best FIFA 2025 awards ceremony has officially entered the voting stage. Voting to determine the world's best players, coaches, and teams over the past year opened on Thursday, November 6th local time.

As quoted from FIFA's official release on Friday, November 7th, 2025, a panel of world football experts and professionals has selected the nominees across six different categories, covering both men's and women's football.

In the men's player category, several big names are set to compete for the most prestigious title. Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), and wonderkid Lamine Yamal (Barcelona) are among the leading candidates. 

All three delivered outstanding performances throughout the season, making significant contributions to their respective clubs and countries.

Meanwhile, in the women's player category, top stars also grace the nomination list. Two Barcelona players, Aitana Bonmati and Alexia Putellas, are again in the awards spotlight, followed by two Chelsea players, Lauren James and Lucy Bronze, who have performed consistently at both club and international levels.

Not only players, The Best FIFA 2025 awards also recognize the best coaches. Major names on the list include Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), Luis Enrique (Paris Saint-Germain), and Hansi Flick (Barcelona) for the men's category. On the other hand, the women's category features Sonia Bompastor (Chelsea) and Sarina Wiegman (England national team).

FIFA has also confirmed it will crown The Best FIFA Men’s 11 and The Best FIFA Women’s 11, as well as present the FIFA Fan Award to the individual or group of supporters who demonstrated exceptional passion for world football.

Fans can now cast their votes via the official FIFA app. The voting process will close on November 28th, 2025, European time.

The pinnacle of The Best FIFA 2025 awards night is scheduled to take place early next year, where the world will await to see who will be crowned the best player on the football planet. Will Mbappe maintain his dominance, or will a new era emerge through young talents like Lamine Yamal.
